I just took the link out since as I read through it I saw notes from somebody about getting a quote from an endorsing artist. So obviously that page is not ready for production even though it's publicly accessible. Two pics from that page though.

Hey folks, we had fun announcing and demoing the new BA15-3 cab today! Sorry if the audio left something to be desired - rest assured there's better, studio quality footage (and audio) coming at you with this cab soon - this was just an introduction. Very articulate, versatile cab, in my own opinion! To me it felt/sounded similar to a stronger, deeper BA210-3, moreso than a 12-3, interestingly. Lots of power, without sacrifing nuance!

OK, poll time:

Who runs straight into the Magellan head (aside from effects like chorus or tuners) vs. a compressor/pre-amp in the signal path? I ask because playing a gig last night with a SansAmp Bass Fly Rig in front never got me a tone I liked. I should have turned off the compressor and preamp but didn't really have time to mess with it. Plus I think the SansAmp is quite colored in its tone. But why use anything if it's adding nothing?

Anyway, simple is better and I'm thinking that with an active bass tone controls, plus lots of options on the Magellan head, I've got what I need to build a good tone without adding mud. Thoughts?

I do both, but run directly into the amp (MG800) more often than with anything else in front of it. This past weekend, I left my compressor and YYZ pedal at home and really didn't miss them. I dialed in a killer tone right away and didn't worry about it again for the rest of the night, only adjusting gain when switching between 2 basses with slightly different output levels.

Next weekend, I'll bring my pedals. I set up the YYZ for the heavier songs but don't have it on all the time. I've noticed that I don't use the compressor much these days, but may bring it just in case.

I use a Keeley Bassist compressor and a Darkglass B7KU before the MG800. I get a killer tone and use the EQ on the MG800 to suit the stage. Direct out to FOH.

The Tech 21 stuff is cool but definitely colors your tone. Too much for my liking.
