Hey all, thanks for the comments. Both the MG-350 and MG-800 use similar fan circuitry. They both run constantly but at "turn o" it is as slow as we can go "reliably" and still have the fan turn on every time. When the amp starts to heat up the fan will ramp up to keep ahead of the thermal demand. We do use high quality fans but it is a mechanical device and there are some variables. We use thermally sensing fans because it is critical to keep ahead of the curve on various components in the power amp and power supply modules. This is one reason we've never had a thermal issue with our amps under any demanding requirements.

If someone does think we should take a look at their fan noise we will certainly do so. Please PM me if needed.
I will say that I've talked to many players that are very sensitive to fan noise before a purchase and in all cases we've been the most quiet amp they've tried.

Interestingly when i had my MG800 the fan was quieter than my MG350. I assumed this was due to a bigger box and more widgets inside which collectively helped absorb the fan whirring. But to restate, while audible in quiet setting and within a few feet of the the [MG350] amp, it is absolutely not intrusive or problematic.

I have and use both the 350 and 800 heads and have never noticed fan noise sitting within a few feet from either. And I use both at low volumes when the family is sleeping.

My GK Fusion 800 head puts out significant fan noise when it kicks on.

I am eagerly waiting to see a post of a comparison of the 15-3 slt and 12-3 slt. My main interest is will the 15 be as tight down low as the 12 while still giving a little bit more down low? Hope that makes sense. I am looking for the highest performance with the smallest footprint, while still being easy to transport. The 15 is slightly larger, hope jeff will be along soon to chime in.

@MAXSPINRUN ---- thanks for the interest and questions about this comparison. The difference is exactly what you would expect, the 15" is deeper, more broad in the low end and deep. Going back and forth between the BA12-3SLT and the BA15-3 SLT does 2 things for me. I'm still amazed at what the BA12-3 cabs bring to the table for their smallish size and footprint but they will have a slightly more mid forward feel and then going to the BA15-3 players have commented that if feels like you just set the cab over a "well". More depth and it just feels more broad in the output. And very tight. Mel Brown who did our video demo on this new cabinet uses our BA12-3 cabs and he loves them. He is not normally a 15" user. He call the BA15-3 the "un-15" because it is not what you expect at all form a traditional 15". He commented that it is the tightest 15" he's ever played and could easily see himself gigging this cab, though he'll always have his BA12-3 cabs.

We have been asked for a 15" version of the BA design ever since we introduced the BA design. It's taken a long time to broaden the line to introduce this and I'm glad we waited. The SLANTED cabinet designs probably one of the biggest factors that keeps this big 15" tight, deep and round without getting woofy or tubby. That ain't what this cab does at all!!

It is always hard when we expand the product line and offer more options to players but soon each model finds its voice with those players looking for what each cab delivers.
