Hey all - sorry I haven't been terribly active as of late - been super busy and weird with all the COVID-19 stuff.

The good news is that my band managed to get our album tracking done just before lockdowns started happening in earnest, and it's being mixed right now. I can't wait to share it with you all!

Hi all,
Newbie here, I’m looking at the Genzler combos 1*12 or the 1*10 but can’t decide yet.

A little background, I mainly play Warwicks (Thumb BO, Streamer SII and a corvette $$)
currently thru a tech21 VT Bass 200 with extension cab, but I miss some high-end sparkle.
Generally my sound is very growly for fingerstyle, but the tech 21 really lacks for slapping imho.

From the reviews I’ve seen both 350 combos would fit great, is there much of a difference in the low end (10” vs 12” driver) and treble considering the bass array has those drivers instead of a tweeter?

thx in advance and cheers

I have both cabs and the 350 head. I can't quite decide. The 12 is more "old school" and the 10 is a little "modern" whatever that means. The 12 has a little more bottom, it "hits" you a little harder in the chest - as much as a single driver can. The 10 seems more subtle. The both sound amazing. I like the 12 for my outdoor jazz gigs. It's louder to my ear. The 10 worked but I found myself wanting just a little more. The 10 is also a great sounding cab. lots of bottom. I am still amazed every time I play it. Takes my Roscoe B string just fine. - again within reason. I did use it with a loud electric jazz quartet (drus, keys, guitar, me) in a small/medium venue and it killed.

The high end is there on both. The array has maybe a smoother high end, more evenly dispersed. There's no lack of high on either cab. Two flavors of awesome. I still have both cabs. Was going to sell the 10 but it hasn't moved and I'm ok with that I guess.

I know that didn't help much. So hard to describe sound.

Hi David,

not concerned about the power output, it’s more for a session/studio type of thing.
Style? Hm, many I’d say. Blues, Jazz, Funk, hiphop, Alternative, Metal.
But it’s not that I change my setup a lot, to me it’s just how you play.

Your point about transparency and flexibility is quite literally what I’m looking for.
Used to run Markbass as well, cmd121h plus extension, great rig but to colouring imho.

You can't go wrong with either. And don't forget, the built-in DI is exceptional too so if you are running high volume through FOH, it will shine.

Agree on the warmth and depth of the 12. You won't lack for highs. Almost like asking about a Princeton vs Deluxe in the Fender guitar amp world. Slightly different but both are trusted mainstays of the studio world.

We were just contacted for 3 shows in a new Drive-In style gig with FM tune in and live stream on June 6th (2 shows) & June 7th (1 show)!! Yes! We are back!!! These are outdoors so I’ll use the BA410/BA15-3 stack. I’ll post info for the live stream if you care to take it in!! Looking forward to hitting the stage once again!!!

That's a pretty beast of a rig!

I'm wondering, given that the 410 is 4 ohm and the 15 is 8 ohm, does the 410 overpower the 15 from a pure volume perspective? And given that it's closer to ear level, do you hear it much more than the 15? Would it be better to swap them?

Just wondering, not that I'm gonna buy a 410 (say that, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat...).

God I hope my wife doesn't read this.

So. After years of searching, buying and selling all brands of amps and cabs I think I’m gonna settle with this for a while (though @Joeykun’s rig looks verrry tempting haha!).
Just got the 12” in and together with one or two of the 10” boxes it all sounds just amazing!

I am so glad I stumbled upon the tiny Genz Benz shuttle 3.0 t8” combo years ago. That put me on the track of Genzler. Such a shame that Genzler is not better known here in Europe!

just wanted to share my happiness :). All I need now is gigs.
