I am so glad I stumbled upon the tiny Genz Benz shuttle 3.0 t8” combo years ago. That put me on the track of Genzler. Such a shame that Genzler is not better known here in Europe!

just wanted to share my happiness :). All I need now is gigs.

It's Frankfurt Music Show aka "Musikmesse". But I guess many bass players already know Genz-Benz and Genzler Amps, at least the ones who have an ear for quality. Unfortunately the unfavorable $/€ fx rates, transport and customs gets Genzler equipment near the same level were Glockenklang, AER and other boutique amps are priced. And that's a strong competition, at least here in Germany.

Edit: an MG 800 currently lists at 888 Euro at Thomann (about $960). I paid 850 Euro for my 2nd hand pristine Glockenklang Blue Rock. A Blue Sky lists about 800 Euro 2nd hand in 10/10 condition. If I tell what I paid for my AER Amp Two Combo you will start crying. The competition for high level clean amps is quite tough here in Germany.

USPS has the lowest shipping costs, but you need to do the customs paperwork by yourself and pick the amp from your local customs office. Not a big thing but a bit more work. FedEx, UPS ect. offer full service with delivery to your door but are also pretty well charging you for this. In Germany they sum up shipping costs to the sales value and then add 19% import tax and 3,7% customs on both. Average shipping time from the US is about 10-12 working days (ground service).

that would indeed be a good deal. I don’t see them listed for 600 in the USA. Prices are a bit lower than in Europe but not enough to make importing them worthwhile I think. That would probably cost you up to 150€, taxes and all.

I got my M800 for 729€ (b stock) from thomann. Still available: Genzler Magellan MG800 B-Stock – Thomann Nederland

Genzler stuff is actually reasonably priced in Europe, thats not the problem. I got my Magellan 350 for 363€, which translates to 393$ these days (including tax and shipping, mind!) and my straight 12-3 bass array for 639€ (translates to about 692$ these days, including tax and shipping again). Granted, both were b-stocks or somesuch but mighty nice :thumbsup:
Mesa Boogie and EBMM stuff, and Fender to a lesser degree, are damned expensive over here.

I guess the European prices are similar to most other American products. That said not sure I can follow the pricing difference on all array cabinets here in the UK. I think the 15-3 SLT is in the UK £999 versus £799 for the 12-3 SLT when the price difference between the two models on the Genzler website is 140 USD and not almost 240 USD as the £200 work out atm. Might have to do with different costs at the time of import, currency fluctuation etc. What do I know...

I am a strong believer of buy once cry once. The Genzler (and Genz-Benz) gear I bought has been standing the test of time and I used it a lot. Great sounding, super reliable and never once let me down. I don't mind the European pricing for that reason. Very tempted to add an array cab (15-3 SLT) to my gear once gigging resumes.

also I kinda have a talk with the missus coming....

only had 15 minutes with it yet, but shag me the growl and transparency is real. Haven’t heard my Warwicks like this before! Super excited!!!

True......but it just sounds so good with a flat EQ and the contour knob off!! There are a couple of low volume spots we play where I have added some contour to get a nice, full low end. It’s definitely a usable feature.
