Genzler Amplification Club

Finally, my bass amp dream came true today.
Have to really start learning to play like I deserve it :D
Is there a thread or link here about favorite Magellan 800 amp settings?
Cheers!

Flat (no pre shape filtering), for the purist who only wants to hear his instrument without any additional coloring from EQ.
Slap tones, from classic to modern. This is Contour A, range 9:00 and above.
Traditional pre shape curves (found to one degree or another in many of the popular preamps and amps over the last 50 years). This is Contour A, range 1:00 and below.
Vintage tones, as made popular by the amp and cabinet designs originally produced in the ‘60s and ‘70s. This is the beauty of Contour B.

None whatsoever - I’m using both the OG cab and the newer SLT cab
Thanks! I've got an OG 12-3 inbound, hopefully arriving in the next day or two so I can bring it and my current 12-3SLT to an outdoor/park gig on Thursday. I might follow in your footsteps a little more as I'm thinking about picking up the RS7000 amp stand which I think you mentioned in an earlier post that you use when you need to get the rig off of the floor.

If anyone else needs an "OG 12-3" (I like that) I have one for sale at my local store. DM me and we can discuss.

Is anyone here using a bass array 210/115?

I really like the array concept.
Currently two Baer ML112 is about my favorite gig thing.
I also have Mesa Subay 210/115, but I'm not a fan of the top end/treble presentation compared to the Baer stuff.

I do but I really haven't had a chance to let 'er rip as it's only been inside the house. But from what I can tell it's incredibly full range without any top end harshness. I had a Markbass 15 and 210 before buying two 12-3s. The 12-3s blew the Markbass rig away and in my mind, the 15 + 210 just give me more goodness on both ends of the spectrum. Stomach churning bottom with sweet high end. I can't wait to get this thing out in the real world! So my impression is just extrapolation but a pretty good one I think.

The Baers give me all the wide open top end of the GK Mel cabs, but sweeter, and no hole in the middle.

the Mesa cabs are great but don’t have the wide open, really high ranging treble presentation.

Do the stay cabs do that?

Like Dwellers I have the same setup but haven’t had the opportunity to play it live....YET! But, will very soon. The Bass Array will give you all that high mid/high end but not harsh like a tweeter. The 210/115 covers all the low mids/low end that is very punchy and never muddy.

The best part is the dispersion of the sound. The double SLT cabs give that nice angle so it hits your mid section and not your knees. And totally fills a stage. These 2 cabs together are a perfect match and all under 100lbs to boot!!

Side view so you can see the angle of both cabs.

@Joeykun ---- great pics, thanks for sharing. The side view pic helps a lot for others to see how these stack and the angles it presents.
Can you speak to your experience about how the MG-800 sits on top of the slant of these 2 cabs together. I've had this question asked several times and you seem to have personal experience on how secure it is on top.
I know other amps might be different but maybe you can share your thoughts.

Same setup as Joey and I can tell you that the head does not budge. Just for fun, I leaned on mine with my full weight and it didn't move. I can't imagine any environment where the head would travel unless you put it on something slippery.

Hey awesome!!! There's a milestone. @Discount Saint --- thank you so much for keeping this so organized and initiating this way back when.

And to all official members (and unofficial as well), I can't thank you enough for your support in this "new" endeavor and for having the faith to jump in and check out our gear. I know some of you have purchased "sight unseen" so to speak and I take that as a huge responsibility that our products deliver what we say they do. That is our personal commitment.

Thank you.
