My week started on thursday...Magellan 800 and DI out performed as expected with my form facto 210 ceramic .. The stage was one of the best sounding stages i have played on in many months.. Wasn't a big place maybe 300 at max..
I should be pairing the 800 with a magellan 212 soon.. it will replace my Uber 115s...

Question on the new 10-2 and amp. If you buy them separate as stand-alone head and cab can you connect them later to make the combo i.e. they have all the right bits to do that or is the combo version of the head n cab set up different to allow them to attach together?

Also interested in how the single ten handles the low B.

Yes, each BA10-2 cabinet is pre-drilled in the top for the MG350-CRADLE, which is the hidden bracket that holds the MG-350 amp.
The screws and shoulder washers come mounted into the top of the BA10-2 cabinet.

The CRADLE and the MG350 amp are also available separately. With the MG350-BA10-COMBO you get all 3 items as a "kit" to install in just minutes (BA10-2 cab, MG-350-CRADLE, MG-350 amp). This even includes a short Speakon cable to connect the had to the cab.

You could also purchase the MG 350 amp and CRADLE separately and mount it to a different favorite cabinet of yours....if you don't mind putting holes in the top of that cabinet.

As for the BA10-2 cabinet response, yes, it handles the B-string very well. I've done many demo's with a 5 string Sadowsky NYC. Even in Active mode it reproduces the B-string extremely well. Remember it is a single 10" but it is thick down low and impressive for it's size.

Im shuffling gear right now. I've been using my trusty genz uber's for years... I tend to stay with what i like almost forever.. But i tried the new magellan 212t cab and loved it.. so im moving some stuff .. I also like the way the new cab looks contemporary and vintage at the same time..

How do you think three BA10-2's would pair up with an MG-800? The power handling (which I am sure is conservative) just about lines up. :thumbsup:

I've been running the Amp for a few months on my other cabs. My new cab arrived today and it heading for its maiden voyage..
The 212s are a potent punching machine with great definition! Today is my Alleva P bass with flats. The rest of the week my LG5 and DR HiBeams.

Does anyone use DI feature to record tracks? I've got the MB210, and it seems to give me a much better tone than any of my software modeler. I think that's the GK growl. So how much growl/boost do you use, and do you do mixing post recording?

My wife said the new MG212t looks modern/ vintage at the same time.. it does look great... I need to get a road case for summer gigs. i have to pay it off first..
It will replace this. I dont need this big a rig these days

I've went back and forth with my Mesa D800+ and my Genzler 800 a lot and finally have settled on the Genzler. To me it just sounds better in a full band setting. That's where it shines through best in how it sits perfectly in the mix. The Mesa to me always seemed a little more muddy to me no matter what I done EQ wise.

My band just got setup with a decent recording interface and I've been recording through the DI on my MG800.

I've done my fair shair of recording before, and I'd have to say this is the best out of the box recording sound I've gotten from a DI. It really gives a nice, full tone right out of the DI, with no modelling or micing.

I will be adding a mic'd version for my final bass tracks, but so far I'm very happy with what I'm hearing.

Agreed! Using DI gives a much more convincing tone than all my amp software models. Has that mojo, if you know what I mean. I'm going to post something in the recording section now because I think I can dial it in a little better.

Sorry I missed this.... Three of the BA10-2 cabs would be a great pairing with the MG-800. I also think 2 of the BA10-2 cabs would work well with the MG-800 --- within reason output wise. I can see a 2 x BA10-2 cab stack working very well with a variety of amps and stage venues.
