Hey, I’ve owned and gigged the Magellan 212t, how does the nu 212t compare tone wise with the tweets off? That would be a fair comparison.

I have been using the MG 350 and BA10 combo for jazz rehearsal. Am considering a second cab as a "nice to have".
Is there a consensus about the best "second" cab to run with for this small combo? Specifically, the 12 vs 10? Thanks!

Obviously by adding a second BA10-2, you get the best coupling effect... but the BA12-3 does add a slightly different voice and gives you more flexibility - you have the single 12 OR the single 10 OR the mix of the two. I have one of each. I used the 12 alone most often pre-pandemic but for playing at home, I’ve been using the 10 alone and for a while was playing with a church band outside and used the 2 cabs together even though the 12 was more than loud enough. Together they just did something special outside.

But, plenty here started with that combo as a gateway - and well - plenty here have added all kindsa cabs. Me personally, I have the 350 combo and have added the 12T-V (nice easy connection of the bracket on top) They play well together. I'm looking forward to checking out the NuClassic series. Worship and bluegrass the 350/10 does great. Rock I can go with the 12T-V or add one of the older Genz 112T cabs for volume. It's always plenty clear and loud enough!
I think it might come down to what kind of setting you play in - and if you play live or have FOH/IEM as well.
I started with the BA10-2 combo.... Just now came back from practice where the combo sat on top of two BA12-3's.

I’m a fan of the BA10 and BA12 combination and have been using it for about four years now. I’ve never tried 2 BA10s, so I can’t compare, but I like the flexibility of having the 10 and the 12 for individual or combined use. Although, I also got the 12TV when they came out, and when I want a combo amp setup, I tend to use that with the MG350.

@kringle77 --- The MG-212T would be more "aggressive" in the mids than the Nu CLASSIC cabs. I think you'd also find the LF of the Nu CLASSIC a little tighter. The MG cab is more efficient output wise, but nothing that a click or 2 on the output of your amp would take care of. Overall the 12" response is a little smoother in tone/feel in the NU CLASSIC cabs.

2 totally different sounding cabs.
After comparing the NU210-T and BA210-3 SLT in a side by side test, I found the BA cab to have more of a 3D sound. Both have that punch that Genzler cabs are known for.
The NU210 has that nice musical tweeter that really compliments the 210s. Great low end and a little bit of sizzle on top which I really enjoy.
The BA cabs are probably the most innovative cab on the market and has the tone to match. With the dispersion that these cabs have, it really gives it that big 3D sound.
The NU Classics are just that...great classic sounding cabs in a compact size and weight but has that big Genzler tone. I could gig with either cab and my ears would be happy!!

Great looking/sounding cabs indeed, thank you for the run down. Almost looks like a cross between Magellan cabs and UBER cabs.
While we're asking @Joeykun for opinions based on experience, if I want to run an 8 ohm and 4 ohm cab at the same time, do you recommend a Genzler Magellan 800, or Genz Benz ShuttleMax 12.0?

Oh man, that’s a tough one. But, the Magellan 800 gets the call. Now, if it was “2” 4 ohm cabs obviously the ShuttleMAX 12.0 is the way to go.
As much as I loved my ShuttleMAX the Magellan 800 simplified getting a great tone with little to no messing with knobs! Love that Contour A knob!!!
So I have a 15-3 and 210-3, both SLT versions (the 15 is only SLT). Am I giving up anything by stacking two SLTs rather than the straight 210 on the 15? Asking for a friend. And the friend is me.
So intrigued about the NU Classic cabs (nu-curious?)...I like that they are tall and narrow. I have a couple of Phil Jones 4x5s that may not be long for this world. Jeff, please don't send any to Bananas-at-Large or I may have to try them!
