I picked up a new MG800 yesterday and have been in a daze ever since! Loud as heck and a wide variety of tones. Plugged in my PJ with Bartolini classics and dialed in great John Paul Jones sound (working on the Lemon Song solo break) in no time.
Next on the list is a 1x12 that I can 1 hand into a gig (my back isn't getting any younger)
I'm gonna have to learn to be carefull. Look at the volume setting. That's pushing a 2x12 400 watt cab.

I have an MG112T-V that is a killer cab. So easy to carry. Great tone. There are also the NU Classic series that also has a 112. Check em out.

A NU Classic 112 Cab along with the Magellan 800 would be a super compact powerhouse! I was really impressed with the 112!
im a big fan of the BA 12-3 either the slant of the straight. I have both. Slant’s a little tighter sounding.

I was asked by an old friend to come to a very nice local studio to do a new bass track for an updated version of a song I had recorded with him about 20 years ago. Definitely a case of playing with musicians much better than I am at this point but I fought my way through. With the recent talk about ways to use the MG800 without cabs, I decided to bring it along to use as a DI. The good news - the sound engineer came out to say how good it sounded and take a look at it. The bad news: "what is that - a Jenzler?" Apologies for no pics - I took some but my playing wasn't the only thing that was apparently shaky today...
So would a single NU Classic 112 plus 7-800 watt class D head (at 8 ohms) be a good setup for small clubs and a medium volume laid back funk/reggae/country band? A little kick/drum OH in PA, I'm in PA sometimes but maybe not? I love my Super Twin but sometimes I have to walk quite a ways from my parking spot.
Edited to add: would the Magellan 12T-V cabinet be a safer choice from a power handling standpoint?

The short answer is yes. I myself would go with the NU210-T. There is only an 11 lb. different between the two and the extra height is always nice on stage. But, that NU112-T is impressive!

@sears ---- Thanks for the interest in our cabs. I can provide some insight along with what joeykun mentioned. The NC-112T can certainly handle running with an amp in the power range for our Magellan 800 (400W 8/ohm). I did most of our testing with the MG-800 driving this cab ---- along with my super powered Sadowsky 5 string NYC. For a 1x12 cab the NC-112T can handle the type of gigs you describe. It will offer the depth you want for the reggae and nice smooth (not harsh) mids for your other types. Small to med vol gigs and under 30 lbs was our target for this model. That being said it is still just a single 12". Within the NC range and a single cab, the NC-210T is seriously impressive -- for it's depth, smooth but solid mids and top end. The LF that the 210 puts out is very strong.
Regarding a consideration of the MG-12T-V, while that is still a single 12" it will handle more power to the cab, it has a more "vocal" mid which will penetrate on stage. If you were concentrating on just rock, more aggressive gigs, I'd consider this in more depth. The output, full range tone, and weight of this model are really hard to beat ----- put it is somewhat more expensive that the NC offerings.
Just a little more food for thought, but this provides a little more background on the NU CLASSIC series. Hope this is helpful for your considerations.

I'll chime in though my name isn't "Jeff"...please consider the BA15-3 SLT. The arrays on both cabs will couple, extension on the 15 is amazing making the stack the most full range I have ever heard, and the combo of the two just looks cool. To me, this is cab nirvana. Oh, and did I say it looks cool?
I was just about to jump in with virtually the same comment. So I'll just +2.
I ended up getting a BA12 to go with my BA10, both slanted, based on advice from Jeff and others here. I love the pairing. Was looking at Bergantino, but these two match well with my Magellan 350 and my B|amp. Depending on Jeff’s advice, I may add the BA15 down the road, figure I could match as needed.
Speaker size doesn't predict how they'll work together or much of anything by itself. The BA series and Nu Classic series employ different drivers, different cabinets and different design goals. Jeff will have the definitive answer, but I agree with the recommendation of going with a BA15-3.
The few that have the 210-15 combo speak extremely highly of them together. I have a couple BA12's as well as a BA15 and I find the 15 with the SLT12 on top is absolutely heavenly. Although this is only been tested in practice room only as things are still shut down hard in Canada. The 15 is a total killer and would give you everything you need to add to the 210.
