Oh my goodness me.

The reason I ask is because I was considering a drive pedal (extra pocket money from the tax refund is why) – I considered the Darkglass VMT just ‘cause that was my favorite part about the Microtubes 500v2 (before I went back to Genzler), then considered the Aftershock, then just before seeing your surprise reply the Orange Bass Butler.

Setting aside the money now for this. I love the addition of the HPF and LPF and the separate drive vol and clean vol. Should be very interesting!

wow... I've been looking at dirt boxes that would take me further than the overdrive available on my 800... you just muddied my decision a whole bunch

wow.
I've been thinking about a dirt pedal to take me further than the overdrive available on my 800.
you just muddied my decision a lot.:cool:

I got a chance to Beta Test the 4 on the Floor pedal a few months back. It is really a great pedal and compliment to the MG800.

All though I found all “Gears” very musical, my favorite was 2nd Gear. 1st & 2nd we’re very close with just a slight different voice between them. 3rd had more overdrive were 4th Gear was more in the Fuzz area. Again, I found some great sounds with all gears and being able to tweak the high/low pass filters makes it fun to find more.

The pedal is different from the Drive Channel on the MG800. Although if I had to match it, Gear 3 would get you there depending on how much drive you were looking for. Gears 1-2 I was able to get that mild breakup thing that I currently lean towards.

Also, now you all know what that empty spot on my board is waiting for!! :thumbsup:

Thank you all for the interest and comments. There is a very interesting back story to this project which we will be able to share soon.

But this first pedal offers a lot of what you all have been commenting about. This is an all analog design with an OVERDRIVE engine that is shaped by the HPF and LPF filters and a CLEAN signal path that can be blended with the overdrive path, or used on its own. So this is a CLEAN BOOST as a starting point and as you shift through the 4 overdrive "gears" you will find a wide variety of content, from mild tube amp style natural harmonics, touch sensitivity, shifting UP through MORE overdrive texture, harmonic richness and dimensional complexity --- up through 4th GEAR, which is aggressive, heavy, symmetrical, low compliance O/D that enters distortion territory.
The MG-800 DRIVE channel overdrive is not a specific setting within this pedal BUT it is easily there with settings around 2nd - 3rd gear, shaping via the HPF and LPF controls.
The DRIVE SENSITIVITY can also add more variations to all of the above.

Certainly we designed this as an extension to what our Magellan amps offer but this can easily can run with any of your favorite amps.
