Finished the board today and the tone and drive out of the 4OTF is insane. Happy customer with all my new Genzler stuff. With the Alembic, I can go full Entwistle with this set up. Thanks @Jeff Genzler - great stuff!!!

I don’t see an MG350. That’s about all that is missing…
Shuttle 6.2, Shuttlemax 12.0 Genzler MG 800 and two Genz Benz Focus 112 cabinets. Now I just have to find my tone on the Genzler. Even though I just got the Genzler I noticed the nots have a little more heft to than with the other two beads. Don’t get me wrong I get some heft to the nots but I have to play with the others. I just left everything set the way it was and noticed it. If anyone would like to share their settings or info on what does what with the Genzler it would be greatly appreciated. I play R&B, Jazz and Pop. I like healthy lows with Pristine highs when I slap and pop.

In that case - contour A is your friend. You may want to go past twelve o clock fo slap maybe even as high as 3 o’clock but I find I need to roll a bit of bass off when I go that far - everyone’s bass / style is different so you will have to play around a little for sure!

Keep working with it till I get it haha! Genzler stuff is so good! I love it, but i switched to bass about a year ago from guitar and had to re learn my whole approach! Little did I know I’m a bassist at heart And the progress I’ve made quickly suggests I def am. Still very very long way to go. This is an obvious statement but dialing in a guitar tone “which I was also a super big snob of knew every inch of my rig to get the sound I wanted “ but bass doesn’t not work like this. Like what I mean is you really can’t tell someone is playing a genzler rig as easily as you could tell a guitar player is using a fender amp or something in the ballpark. Does that make sense? But I know I hear aaalll types of bass tones my ear usually leads me to right spot.
Thank you for the advice! The cabs are def plugged in… it’s just the Spector is a metal bass intended on that so this is just a guess idk, but I would guess it’s geared more for low end thumping such like in drop
Tuning hence the hella solid B string,BUT you are right in the fact I think it’s eq. My chain use to be way to much, now just the hyper luminal comp darkglass, Mxr envelope, sansamp not really used much it’s on my board but it’s meant more incase my amp were to fail at a show but it is a nice pedal to use an eq like if I want my fender jazz to thump more, they are handy but I’ve been just plugging straight into amp lately. The Spector Euro 5 with darkglass pre is diff in the fact to my ears in the fact yes you can def cut bass but somehow it seems like it takes away from the fullness of the overall tone? Make sense?
the closest thing I tried tongiht I think might be good is use Channel 2 for my Spector. It cuts the bass and highs and then I can add as needed, then leave the countour on blue cause I actually love channel one vs 2. I like the hi fi sound it gets.
But I must say as very wise poster with genzler equipment also said the exact thing I was thinking and he wasn’t even talking to me at the time. He mentioned “ I know you all prob mainly dislike channel two at bedroom volumes but I assure you ar band levels it’s magic” he was right.
I’m trying to really Learn how to dial the mids in with the frequency in the megellan head.
God I love the contour control at bad mix turning it all the way up is a little much. But maxing it out at bedroom volume or just above it tightens it so much I love it
It is not clear to me whether you're having these issues only with that bass and rig combination.
In case you're experiencing the issue of "too much bass", I'd recommend to check the setup of the bass itself first. It is possible that your bass' pickups are to low on the treble strings side and/or too high on the bass strings side. If so, lower/heighten the pickups until you get an even tone across all strings.
If only your B-string is affected, maybe you're using a tapered string? If so, don't forget to adjust for the discrepancy in string thickness at the tapered end.
I love your setup! That kinda makes me wish i woulda did what you did! More speakers I feel the better things cut through the mix.
Just so I’m clear I love my genzler set up! The questions I ask are just little stuff that I want To explore all sounds of the rig. Over al I know I could just set everything to noon and be just fine and still a crowd would love that bass roar. I just want to fine tune it an learn all about it.
I know it’s been discussed so I won’t ask, but does anyone know what page I kind find more detailed info on the countours and their effect and how people used them?
I’m also trying to fully grasp the mids and frequency knob and how they relate. Sorry for sounding so newbish, thank you guys!

You asked about my take on the Genzler compared to the Genz Benz I have. First I don’t have any problem with the GB heads I have, they imho sound great. I guess you could say I’m a gear ho hahahahaha. To my ears the the notes have a little more heft with the Genzler, almost like a tube. I can actually feel some of the notes, I really can’t say that about the GB heads. Right now I have it set with everything set at noon. I have not done a gig with it yet for me that will be the real test. When I say I can feel some of the notes I’m not playing loud, I’m in my living room. What I’m testing it with are my two GB 112 Focus cabinets, and my Fender Elite Jazz bass. If I’m getting this much heft with that setup I can’t wait until I pull out my Epifani PS410 and my MM Bongo. I used the 112 cabinets because I use them more than any other cabinets I have, mainly because most of the time I’m coming threw the mains, but if I have to carry the room with my set up, it’s the 410 cab, or my Hartke HX 115 & 210.

I bought a 4OTF pedal. But it was missing a part - there, fixed it, Jeff Genzler, lol. Will do a better battery pack, but this worked.
