Genzler Amplification Club

So, with a little more tweaking on stage I had my 4-OTF dialed in nicely and sounding awesome. I run it before my Darkglass B7KU that’s always on. On a few songs I use the 4-OTF as a boost to bring out a few important bass lines. It really worked well. Playing with the High/Low Pass Filters I was able to add some weight/wool to the notes by just adding drive only. See my settings below. (Even though the pedal is placed after the DG it is routed before it)

I got a couple weeks before my next show so I will put together a little video showing how I use it.

Does anyone have input or reviews on the Nu Classic cabs? I've read all comments to date and watched the review videos, just seeing if anyone has additional thoughts or experience.

+1. I'm on the fence whether to go Nu Classic or Bass Array, so Nu Classic info would be useful to me also.

Happy 4th back to you, Bob, and all of you Genzler players out there! Hope a lot of you are gigging this weekend!

welcome - I recommend reading through this rather lengthy thread as there are numerous posts of favorite settings and questions answered that may speed you along.
Loring is always right on the money.
Most of us started though with all the tone set to 12 noon and dialed in the contour to taste. It worked for me for quite a while until I hit on some odd shaped rooms. Welcome to the group!

Do the Nu Classic cabinets sound similar to the Genz Benz focus cabinets? I ask because I’m also thinking about either getting the Nu Classic 212 or two 112 cabinets. I was also wondering which gives more punch and lows, two 112 cabinets or a 2x12 cabinet.

Personally I’m a big fan of the BA cabs. Lots of guys here prefer the nu classic for that old school vibe. It really comes down to personal preference.

the array though is definitely very distortion friendly with less harsh breakup than many tweeter horn loaded cabs. The NU cabs do have a great tweeter in them too but different flavors of greatness.

There are a few on here that have both so they are better qualified to give you a comparison.

As to the 2x112 vs 1x212. I think that’s a wash as the BA goes down close to 30hz and once you couple 2 together you definitely get more low end extension on top Of the volume increase. Plus you have the option to use one for small gigs and 2 for bigger/louder requirements. (Easier to carry too…)
