Thanks for the heads up! I snagged one of the BA12-3’s at a big discount.
It is a great price. My GAS kicked in big time but I couldn't justify it at this point.
picked up the BA 15-3 I got from Chuck Levin's off Reverb. It was a demo unit and they accepted an offer I didn't really expect
I need to find a good deal on a nc212t. Someone please fall out of love with one soon. Lol
I use my Forte HP with my single 15-3 all the time. It's my country bar band rig.
I had a chance to try one out the other day and it sounded really good - I'm fighting the urge to add it and complete my full set of NCs.
Can I ask if anyone has done a comparison between the Magellan and the old Genz Benz Streamliner heads?
I've been running a Streamliner for several years and was considered a Magellan as a possible replacement if the Streamliner ever "bit the dust".

I've owned both, but not simultaneously.
Both excellent.
Streamliner much more tubey to me.
Magellan a bit more "clean" in the blue channel, tubey in the gold channel.
So to me Magellan is overall more versatile.
But yeah, I loved that Streamliner too.

I still own both and agree with the previous post. Different, yet both potent and awesome in their own ways. I prefer the streamliner tube tone, but the Magellan is more versatile with all the voicing options.
Common wisdom around here is that the Magellan sit somewhere between the Shuttle and Streamliner. Never owned a streamliner but had 2 Shuttles and 2 Magellan. loved the Shuttles but greatly prefer the Magellan. Much more heft with the Magellans.
I wasn't as "into" tube tone back then as I am now. I've thought about trying to find an old Streamliner but it's difficult. I'm sure it would sound great with my 12T-V cab.
My band is a loud stoner rock outfit so I'm not sure a single would work. What about adding a 15 to the 12-3 I already have? What's the current mindset on mixing cabs? I think these two would work great with my Forte, but I know lately some cab lines are designed to work in unison regardless of the cone size, like Mesa Boogie I think. Some others don't recommend it. The only thing I'd worry about is the cab handling of 750 watts vs. the Forte's 1200 watts at 4 ohms. Not sure if I'm overthinking this, I just don't want to get the wrong setup and damage something.

Anytime that Magellan V2 with a tube preamp and 2nd parametric mid wants to be produced, I’m still waiting with wallet in hand!
I’m torn. Been a Genz Benz/Genzler guy for years. Decades maybe? I love my current MG350/12T-V combo. I don’t use it much as I do mostly DI/IEM gigs.
For those I have a REDDI tube DI. Sounds fantastic. I think a Streamliner would sound great for the few times I’d use it. I do like the ability to just clamp the MG head on the cab. 1st world problem I suppose. I’ve debated that if I liked the Streamliner that I could replace the REDDI with it and get a tube pre/DI in the process. A head usb as “floor worthy” as the REDDI maybe, but I could save some money with a “2 for 1” option I suppose.
Idk what I want to do I guess. Too much free time to think about al the scenarios I guess.

Again, when Jeff puts out the version with a tube preamp, problem solved. I’m not even kidding. I’ve been using a Magellan, sometimes two in a billy Sheehan style rig since the amp first came out. It is my all time favorite gigging amp ever but, I’m always having to use an outboard eq pedal and something else to give it a little more character. It’s still my favorite and I’m glad to see that there isn’t been a new version every 6 months just to Almaden more sales but, I think it’s about time to replace the count our control with a second semi parametric mid and out a tube in the input. No insult intended, I’m a huge Jeff Genzler fan from way back.
