And if so were they the ones listed here? Every time those got bumped I was trying to figure out how to justify a trip to NC so I could pick those up 'on the way..'
A little late to the low b in a 10-2 vs a 12-3 conversation.... FWIW I find the 12-3 is much better at handling the low b on my Modulus. But the 10-2 combo with a 12 under it helps the single 10 a lot.
Just wanted to let you know that your post pushed me over the edge and I ordered a 4otFloor today. Should be here mid-next week. Looking forward to it!
Boy this rig just keeps on impressing me, band mates, and any passerby.. great definition on every note with a touch of hair just to add some warmth. It covers my Motown to Funk gigs with slight bass tweaks, very responsive head and I haven’t put master past noon even for outdoor gigs.
Yes it is.. pairs very nicely with the head. The cab is as impressive too…
I used my new BA12-3STR twice over the weekend. The first was an outdoor show with 2 guitars, drums, bass and only the three vocals through the PA. The rig was MG800/BA10-2/BA12-3STR. The 10-2/12-3 definitely brought more low end support to the band than the pair of 10-2s. I quite liked it, as did the band members. The 10-2 and 12-3 seemed to blend seamlessly and produced a nice balanced sound. The 12-3, no surprise, is noticeably heavier than the 10-2, but still an easy carry.
The second show, same band, was our usual bar/restaurant/lounge gig, and I used the MG800 with only the BA12-3. Once again, it produced strong, clear low end support to the band. I will say I missed having the 10-2 with the 12-3 just a bit.
So I've now used, in various settings, a single 10-2, a pair of 10-2s, a single 12-3, and a 10-2/12-3 combination. Each combination, while sounding different, worked extremely well for the setting. The MG amps and BA cabs just work, and work well.

Yes, I considered that for the outdoor gig, but got a little lazy I guess. The next gig that can handle that stack I'll do it!
Had to scrub this whole thread for the rough EQ positions of the mid sweep knob but very glad I did. Was looking at the waveform of my rig DI + Cab IR and noticed that the 200 Hz region is a problem for me, especially with contour B maxed out as a high roll off I have to cut some of the low mid info it boosts.
I am so unbelievably satisfied with how this sounds, I enjoy flipping between both contour settings while jamming around/seeing which I like better for certain songs. Would be cool to have a footswitch to switch between the two but not really super practical, especially because it seems that contour A has a slight volume cut due to mid scoop while B seems to actually add a bit of volume.

I run a pedal board into the MG800, DI out on post EQ. I boost the amp with dirt and compression and the attack switch on the B7kU is set to boost for some growl, that's why I like maxing out the contour B so much. I feel like it gives me the best of both, enough highs to cut through but warm enough to not be icepicky/annoying.
Doing this does push the drive channel and clean channel closer together tonally but the drive channel has the slightest bit more sizzle. Also it really responds nice to playing dynamics actually to a shocking degree, feels great.
I do prefer contour B over A 99% of the time. I haven't tried this setting with a physical cabinet out loud but it really sounds great over headphones with the BA 12-3 IR.
