Yes, a tube-based preamp/DI is my guess as well. If we're lucky it might include some of the tone-shaping features that were in the ShuttleMax, such as additional semi-parametric mids controls, and those variable shape filters (LF boost and HF attack). Are we there yet?

Will a tube based preamp/DI fit in the spot on the board that was referenced? If indeed that is what it is, if it sounds awesome, it would be more board friendly than my REDDI…but it’ll take a pretty nice pre/DI to knock my REDDI from the #1 spot.

I took the Nu-Classic 212 + 112 out tonight - this group uses IEMs and PA support so it was overkill but it felt good so there's that. It was a chilly night in the D so I also got to break out the Genzler hoodie. Unfortunately, it wasn't until we were packing up that I remembered I hadn't flipped the switch to 2.67ohms on the head while using an 8+4 stack; every time I think I understand impedance someone says something that sets me back so hopefully this was just an matter of efficiency (or lack thereof) and I didn't wind up doing permanent damage the the head or cab(s).

Whew - thanks! I was going to have to wait until the rest of the house wakes up to check it out but hearing that from you is a big relief. In addition to the sound of these cabs, the footprint is really awesome too - I can shoehorn into some tight spaces and then go vertical with multiple cabs when more power is needed.
