Genzler Amplification Club

I’m on MG 800 with two 12-3’s currently… loving it but thinking of this config to give me a bit more mid punch as well as smaller setup (just the 10-2) for rehearsals or smaller room gigs. Whatcha think?

a single 10 won’t have more punch but will sound more mid focused since it has less low end extension… the 210 on the other hand will be a little punchier and still has less low end extension.

Just got my new amp rig. I am impressed. May I join?

Anyone tried a BA 10-2 paired with a BA 15-3?
I have two sets of cabs, NC 210 and 112, and a BA15/12/10. Most of the time I use either the 15 and 12, or 12 and 10, but I tried the 10 and 15 together a few times for fun. I like any of them together, and don’t mind the physical look (10 on top of 15 is a bit funny looking but so am I).

How do you find they pair up. I am really torn between adding another BA 10-2 to my MG350 combo or going BA 12-3. Figured I might as well ask about the BA 15-3 as well...
Personally, my favorite pairing is the 10/12, and favorite by itself is the 12. I hadn’t actually had a 15 cabinet since I had a Peavey Black Widow 15 combo in high school in ‘85. The Genzler has come a long way from that! Just my personal favorite… My basses are generally a Sandberg fretted strung E to C, and G&L strung B to G, and a Marleaux fretless 5 string. The 10/12 is light and works for me with all 3.

E-C! Nice! If I ever got a 5'r, that's what I'd go with!

just joined the family y'all! I've always gravitated toward Genz Benz/Genzler stuff because I remember playing through a shuttle head in my highschool jazz band and loving the sound that came out of it even though I barely knew anything about amps then (still don't). so when I saw my local music store had a shuttle combo for sale a few years ago I picked it up the next day and have been using it ever since, along with a 210 GB extension cab I got on craigslist.

But lately I've wanted to simplify my rig to head and one cab rather than 2 cabs. So after thinking hard about it, I decided that through my experience with Jeffs products and many good testimonies all over the web. it made sense that if i was going to spend a certain amount on an amp and cab, to go with a brand I know I can trust. so ordered a Magellan 800 and Nu Classic 212 yesterday and cant wait for them to come in! will be rocking that rig with a Stingray 5 HH and Alien Audio Lunar with the dual Ps, both of which are also yet to come in, so needless to say I'm excited! :bassist::hyper:

also shameless plug. ordering this rig was not cheap, so my trusty Genz Benz rig will have to go. If you're in Maryland or the DC, MD, VA area, check out the link to the classifieds if you or anyone you know may be interested its a Shuttle 6.2 210 combo with the removable head and a 210 extension cab. selling rig together at a great price

Hey all...perhaps a bit OT but I value this community.

A regular gig of mine is considering moving to all IEM/house sound. I know I can bring my Magellan 800 and use it as a DI and preamp and it will work great. All FOH folks have told me how nice the DI is in the Magellan.

However, if I wanted a straight preamp/DI pedal that would give me something close to the Magellan, what would you recommend? I'm looking at Nordstrand Starlifter, Mesa/Boogie etc. There are many. I certainly wish there was a Genzler but short of that, what do you guys like for this use case? It will be a single pedal/board solution.

Thanks!

I don't have a solid recommendation for you as I went through so many different things before I finally settled on what I'm using at the moment but two critical components of my ampless/IEM setup are the 4otF and the Re/Q.

I will also go on to say that there is still some space left on the "Pedals" menu on the Genzler website for a nice pre... #IKnowNothing

Have you ever tested your BA410-3 (4 ohms) vs BA210-3/BA15-3 (4ohms)?

I’ve gigged with both setups many times. I like them both and do switch up my rig from time to time. However, I do prefer the quick response of the BA410-3 cab over the BA210-3/BA15-3 SLT cabs. My main gigging cabs are the BA410-3 on top of the BA210-3 SLT.
