It does seem like Genzler is a good part of the way there. EQ. Drive. Just need it all in one with an XLR out.
The others you mention are top notch. There are a number of great preamp/DI choices out there. I have had Genz Benz and Genzler gear for a really long time. It sounds great, is built well and has always been perfect for me. I currently have an MG350/12T-V combo for when I use an amp. I don't very often. Most of my gigs are IEM/FOH/Silent stage. I am using a tuner/compressor/Tube DI (no preamp) combo right now and it is killer. Best I've ever sounded. I have thought about using my 350 as a DI/Preamp, but my set up is all about being on the floor and I just don't want to go there with my MG350.
I am waiting for Bergantino to bring something to market that has been in "field testing" for a while. It sounds like it could be the cat's meow. Basically everything I'd want (maybe even more) in a DI all in one pedal. I debated going Bergantino when I was going to replace my old Genz Benz combo, but I have had such good fortune with Jeff's stuff I decided to stay. The only think that has a chance of me changing my gear is this potential pedal of Jim's. Even then, it'll have to REALLY wow me to get me to change from my current rig(s) as everyone says I have never sounded better. It would be the convenience of having EVERYTHING in one box that would put me over the edge.
Jeff is pretty in tune to what we/players are asking for and chatting about here. Wish lists are common and considered. Maybe Jeff is working on something. Who knows. I'm not an expert, but it seems like lots of people are going IEM/House these days as it's better quality and more affordable. Seems like if you're an amp builder you'd maybe want to keep your preamp/sound as an option for those players? Like I said, I'm not expert at building or marketing. I could be way off base.

Extremely well reasoned and put. Thanks. I agree that the industry trend of quiet stages at ALL levels are certainly making big rigs, while fun, a bit of a dinosaur. I may just wait for something to pop out of the Bergantino and Genzler camps and if they don't, there are good choices out there.
Just jumping in here to say how much fun I had out at Poodies Roadhouse in Spicewood, TX on Saturday night. Tone was on point as always!!
So I’ve had a couple rehearsals with the BA10-2 now, this cab is fantastic. Playing with a pit in a large auditorium, going up and down the full range of a 5 string, it’s clear and authoritative through every note. It doesn’t sound stressed at all, and still has plenty in the tank to go louder. This cab sounds huge, especially for how small it is with such an easy carry.
It's really impressive. I had that before I went to the 12T-V cab with my MG350 head. I wanted just a little bit more so the 12 is nice. Also, believe it or not, I feel like the slightly larger combo is easier to carry. Either way, you can't go wrong. Best combo in the business if you ask me.
I too had the BA10-2 combo with extra cab. Excellent tone and articulation. Still have 1 cab. But I typically use the 12-TV cab now as I feel it has a fuller bass response.

so just got my Stingray and Alien Audio five strings delivered yesterday and had a bit of time to fool around with them, less than id have liked cause i had plans for the night haha. but man running them through the MG-800 and NC-212t was beautiful. this cab definitely has a different vibe than my super hifi mid range heavy Genz Benz set up, but the low end is just crazy, and theres still plenty of nice clarity. never had to turn down the bass on my 210 stack, but this one cab by itself shakes my room like I've never had it before haha. Patiently waiting for the next time I have a band rehearsal to really put the cab through its paces, but I have a question.
The NC-212t is rated for 600w RMS, its the biggest gat in the nu classic series. I barely ever turned my amp head over 10 o'clock when I was using the 210 stack and Shuttle 6.2. But the Magellan 800 is running full power to the NC-212t as its going at 4 ohms. i know this sounds dumb but i just want to be sure. Can I run the MG-800 at about 10 o'clock continuously without damaging the cab? I'm assuming Genzler wouldnt make the biggest Nu Classic cab unable to reasonably handle the MG-800 as its the only head they have that would actually put out enough to really push the cab.

There's a thread that agedhorse started asking about what people use for iem solo practice..... Which got me to thinking that I could plug in an xvive transmitter into the xlr out on the mg800. Doing so gives me sum hum, a very low aux in signal, and no instrument signal (maybe I didn't notice it though it was there)
I can verify the IEM is working via some other combination of line mixers, etc. If a could find an xlr cable amongst my ratsnest of cables hiding in the dark corner of my basement I might give that a try as a means to move the transmitter away from the head - maybe the head is generating some interference, but, I'm no agedhorse, more like an aged man ...

XLR, literally plugging the transmitter directly to the direct out on the head. Ground on, post eq, line level. Transmitter set to line level.
I just pulled the trigger on a 350 combo and a second 10-2 cabinet. As I am mostly a five-string player, I'm considered adding either a 12-3 or 15-3 as third cabinet for some fuller lows. Question is, which one to get? Would love thoughts. Usage is primarily to serve as my at-home practice sonic heaven rig 
For home I’d say neither. A pair of 10-2s is a formidable rig. That’s what I currently use with a 350 and it’s adequate for most gigs let alone home use. When I run direct with iems, I generally use a Mesa Subway Preamp+ with an hxstomp xl. Works well. The preamp+ is the Mesa d800+ preamp which has a more modern clean sound than other Mesa amps. Not as crisp as the Magellan IMO but still very good.

one other option would be a Genzler ReQ with an added DI, if you are using a pedalboard.

As bherman said, I don’t think you really need anything else. If you get the rig and decide you really can’t dial in the kind of low end you want, I would get the 12-3 because it will have plenty.
