I’m curious for sure about this one but I haven’t found anything that can unseat my Reinier Gasoline and MBD-1. I might give this one a shot though.

Just curious - how fast are items shipping when ordered directly from Genzler's site? Looking at orders the crash box. Love the 4OTF, it is now my always on (unless I need super clean) drive pedal. Was looking at getting another 4OTF and setting it up as a cranked pedal for serious dirt - but this looks more like what I'm after.

I use that same gauge on my Lakland 55-02 and EBMM Sterling 5 through that head/cab and get good definition across the fretboard.
There isn’t anything wrong with the strings, like you I also have them on my Bongo HH. I’m just wondering about the woolly tone
Do you have it with more than one instrument? On my active Sandberg, if the battery is dying it can change the tone a lot
Running an EA iAMP Classic 1200 into Genzlers (a BA15-3 and 210-3). Also tried the Genzler BA15-3 and separately the 210-3 with a Markbass CMD102P. See pics. And yes, the basses are moved to clear the port before playing.
Regardless of head or combo the rig is, well, it's boomy as heck. Can't seem to get the rumble from the Genzlers down to a manageable shape. They push a ton of sound but they just seem to be designed more for large outside gigs. Thoughts?
Contemplating a switch to a Genzler Magellan 800 into a Barefaced Big Baby II or Big Twin instead. I am very much used to the punchy clean response of the old GK800RB pushing a Hartke stack of 4x10 + 2x10.

Just ordered a Magellan 350 to sit on top of my Nu Classic 115 and 112 stack. Can’t wait!!!
Very odd indeed - I’m using 12’s and they are between the 10 and 15 and not boomy at all.
every demo I’ve seen and heard - of the 15’s or 10’s also not boomy.
personally using the Magellan which does have an hpf around 30hz built in. Also driven them with a Traynor small block - not boomy either.
could it be the room? Or maybe eq settings?
If you’re used to a more mid forward cab, you may be boosting lows to make up for the other cabs characteristics? Just throwing ideas out.

Apologies for the name drop but Lee Sklar pointed me to EA. They went out of biz 12/31/21 about 6mos after I bought the head. The EQ is set exactly as Lee’s and one of the basses is a Ding5 with a Glockenklang pre so I am emulating his exact sound except for the cabs. Tried every configuration on the MB CMD102P and still boomy. Might be the rooms, I have noticed the Genzler Bass Array stuff seems to search for brick and glass in a room to resonate off of. Well, it’s that or the meds are really good this time.
BTW, outside gigs? Nothing better.

I have both of those pedals and the Crash Box kind of sits in between the two of them, in terms of its baseline drive tone, though it is very flexible.
Got myself a new rig for the first time in…well whenever the Genz Benz Shuttles first came out (love that amp).

Jeff, it's the same Dave in NH, we've chatted.
Since the post I've been talking to other bass players who've also played those rooms...it's the venues.
The fake wood walls are hiding brick or cinder block walls, no baffling, basically reverb halls designed as night clubs!
And again, no issues outside at all. Your cabs really fill the space with both tone and a physical presence.
I'm still in the market for a Magellan 800, 'signed' by you.

I have 1/2 of this rig and love it. I don’t NEED 2 cabs at this point but I think it’s a fantastic looking rig. Sounds awesome as well.

Not sure if I need two either, but I have a bunch of outdoor weddings and gigs this summer, so I am looking forward to the extra oomph. Plus like you said, the cabs just look good haha.
