Yes, picture distortion is making it look to different sized cabs, but that's a BA12-3 SLT on the bottom and a BA12-3 STR on top. I did disconnect the bottom cab because of some serious coupling with the stage, causing massive sub frequencies - I loved it but my guitarist didn't. Good news was the sound man and PA support were top-notch.

Modulus, thanks for sharing your experience. The combo is loud enough for just about everything I do, especially with an HPF. It goes pretty deep as well. I do have times when I will need more than the combo, and the 12-3 might be the moderately better way to go.

@Jeff Genzler - any particular thoughts on the combo combined with the 10-2, and then the 12-3?

I use a 10-2/12-3 stack as well as @Modulus 96 . The cabs work nicely together and each brings its own thig to the party... whether tht works better/worse/just different than two 10-2's is above my pay grade. I do wonder whether by having different drivers if you lose the advantage of coupling the two arrays. As it is, I often end up angling the top cab towards our drummer and keyboard player so they can hear me better so I'd lose that anyway.

Well, I guess I roll with this crowd now. Just scored a 210t and I am really impressed. I was looking for a more efficient 210 to replace my Ampeg 210 VR and was thinking about the Fender Rumble 210 but was leaning toward the Rev Sound 210. The Genzler has always been on my radar, but I didn't think I could pull it off. Then, all of a sudden there it was right in front of me and local. So, here it is.

I've been using combos and the Ampeg mini SVT rig for so long it'll be just like starting over with the cabinet/head deal. I've got this Streamliner, the Shuttle 6.0, the D800 and the GK400RB to mess around with. Exciting times to be sure.

I have a 10-2 now and previously had a 12-3 as well. I used each one by itself, and paired up. The 10-2 is voiced with less low end, which works perfectly for all the times that I need a smaller and more portable cab. The 12-3 sounds incredible, and the pair is excellent as well. The 12-3 is not nearly as light or portable as the 10-2 though. So if you don’t mind the extra size and weight, I can’t recommend the 12-3 enough to pair with the 10-2. I’ve never tried the 10-2 pair, but I have no doubts they sound way bigger than you would expect for the size.

Purchased the Genzler Magellan preamp pedal. I have a Magellan 350 head that I've been using for all my gigs for the last 2 years. I wanted to get that kind of tone (or at least try) out of my rehearsal combo amp. I play with a 17 piece big band and we rehearse in a rather loud and somewhat boomy room. I feel like I fight to get a tone I'm happy with in there.

Yesterday we had rehearsal and I ran the Genzler pre into the effects return (bypass the onboard preamp) of my Peavey Max 208. I setup the pedal in front of me where I could easily tweak as we played. Played my Sandberg VS4 through it.

So how did it sound? Awesome! The high pass filter on the pedal helped reduce the boom. As you can see, I really didn't do much tweaking to the tone. I just bumped some low mids. I'm looking forward to running my other basses through this setup next week.

So after a couple of months and some gigs I have to say I am still ecstatic with the Magellan 350. It sounds great with all of my cabinets. Has carried the room no problem. On my Genz Benz LS112 my drummer asked me to turn down he was getting growled to death. Have not taken this cab out yet but side by side with the LS112 the Genz cab holds its own and sounds a little more live in a good way.

A little bit of A contour really brings the 81 Fender Bullet alive. Even more contour makes it sound active.

Quick question for all of y’all… I am very interested in the new Magellan pre-amp but I already have a Magellan 800 amp… Would it be redundant to get the pedal as Id be basically doubling up on the same eq? I really want the HPF as I’ve never used one before, and it seems to be some thing that I am in need of….. would just seem silly to spend that money and that’s the only thing I’m really using it for that makes any difference in my sound because I already have the amp..
