This combo is not only for practice.
Those that know me know that I am a Rocker, but then again those that say I am a Rocker don't know that I dabble in Country music - the kind that is 180 degrees from the Rock I play. I played a Country gig last night and used the MG350/BA10-2 combo. We had a drummer/vocals, guitar player/vocals, a harmonica player, and me on bass/vocals. This little combo did the job easily and certainly was not stressed. The low end was not lacking in any way. Everyone in the band freaked when I first walked in with the small bag on my shoulder and my bass in the other hand, asking "Where is your amp and cab?" Me: Right here!

Was that just one cab or did you have an additional 110 cab? Just when I think I've decided on a MG800/BA12-3 I read this.

This was a small bar, old style Country Music, and I used only one BA10-2, which handled the gig just fine. Two were not needed. If 2 had of been needed I would probably have used my BA12-3, although it would have been a tossup as to which (two BA10-2 or BA12-3) were the most viable/applicable. I received several complements on my sound.

Edit: And, I could have easily used my MG800 and BA12-3 for this gig. It was just SO convenient to use the little combo - this gig was exactly (IMO) what it was designed for.

There have been several posts about some doing this and liking it. Personally. I prefer to keep them same/same. In other words, two BA12-3 or two BA210-3.

I will try one of those BA cabs.. I love my MG.. Best 212 that i have ever gigged.. I like it more than the Berg and Aggy stuff by MILES.. I did a side by side A/B to the berg and the Magellan was much thicker to meet my needs for my diverse gigs...So i bought the MG 212.. But i keep seeing you guys with the BA.. GAS .. ?
I know in my gut i don't need anything at all.. Buuuut ! lol

I have tried the MG212 with the BA12-3 on top. More SPL than I personally need but to my ears it really made all frequencies stand out and did add to the side dispersion. I believe I turned off the tweeter in the MG212.

Some one here mentioned trying a BA12-3 on top of the MG212 & said it sounded great!

That is a good thought... I was thinking about doing that too.. I hardly need more than my MG212 .BUt i think i want to keep it all the same by adding a MG112.. I am selling off my older Uber 115 which i have been using when im on a louder gigs.. But I really don't need all of that.. 312 are perfect...
BUT one BA112 could be sweet ..
The casey james shows that i'm doing can almost be done with one BA lifted on a case. He is very volume conscious of his guitar volume and is not an ego maniac cranking too loud. he blends.. So one 112 with Monitors could easily handle an arena gig these days . Ive done madison square garden with one 410 cab numerous times.. And my MG212 is more of everything than that old sealed 410.

While pretty much all cabs sound better when you stack two of them, what I find with the Bass Array cabs is that the dispersion and the apparent upper midrange to lower treble content seems to improve more than what I would expect just from stacking two identical cabs. In other words, it seems to me that the array seems to work even better than expected when you start stacking them. And of course, doubling up the drivers works just as good as expected, as well.

YMMV, though.

I am.. Its his Birthday... I have no idea where to get a cake in Phoenix though..
We are doing an IEM gig on that show since we are flying in. Ill probably use the ampeg SCR DI for that one.

Its going to be very different than what we have been doing right now.. It is a gig with a new drummer that I have not met yet.. He wants to work me in with his nashville buds... I will meet that drummer the day we get off the plane..
They are flying in from Nashville and I'm flying in from Texas. It's gonna be like " Hi, How ya doin'? Let's get some food, soundcheck anyone? and OK lets go play this set!" HA.

It's not the full band with the usual horn section, Utility Keys/Perc and guitar and harmonica guys though... It will be only 3 piece.. And i usually dig that.. We have a few radio dates in CA the next day. Its stripped down... Maybe after the title of his new record. Strip It All Down? I have to call him and ask! haha

More than OK; I really didn't have it turned up - less than halfway, and it kept up with the drummer just fine. I could have brought an amp stand but it just wasn't needed. Loud and clear.

No.. I wish I could take credit because it is all good.. I didn't do this new record.. I was working on another project that still isn't finished . Ughhh:(
yes that is a good song . BulletProof is good too. he returned to his roots... Some Delbert McClinton is on it and claptons BG singer.
