Genzler Amplification Club

I agree with Andy and Steve. That is not what the Magellan 212 is designed to do. Drums and bass at higher (attempted, anyway) volumes with all those main cabinets? No. It won't be enough if you guys play at any kind of volume, anyway.

How loud is this gig going to be? It sounds like it's gonna be loud with all those mains.

It's your cab, so if the sound guy wipes out your drivers, is he or the band going to pay for replacements? There is not enough control over this to risk your gear. Proper subs need to be gotten if at all possible.

I’ll give you one guess which one sounded better. ;)

I believe you. That looks like the BA-210 on top of the BA-115? Got to say after trying all of the bass array series, alone, and in combination, that rig right there absolutely slays. It tops the BA2-410 alone for full range.

Today I discovered the BA–112 on top of the BA–210 is also super rad when you don’t need quite as much depth but lots of SPL and articulation. I’ve learned all of these cabs are different flavors of awesome, and I’m trying to downsize, but it’s really hard to get rid of anything!

I thought the BA-112 was on the chopping block, since it’s an in between size for me, but honestly, considering the size and weight it can’t be beat… somehow it seems to go almost as deep as the 15 but it’s just a slightly different character of low end. Sounds amazing combined with a BA-210 or BA-110 (haven’t tried it combined with the 410 yet.)

Yes. 210 STR on top of the 15 SLT. Can’t imagine why or when I’d need anything more.

awesome. The OCD in me wants to try to hear the difference with the STR vs the SLT on top (I own the SLT). The line array lines up perfectly with the STR on top. I imagine yours will have slightly more low end and low mid.

I remember @Jeff Genzler saying the rig you’re using was his favorite…maybe he can satisfy my OCD with some differences between the STR and SLT BA-210 in this configuration?

Been quite a few weeks since we’ve been out and about. Had a Friday and Saturday shows this weekend. The 800 and BA410 were on point as always! I barely have to turn the amp up! Was fun to get out and knock the rust off.

410 and a strong amp - good tools for any situation. Mount some casters underneath and your back will be your friend

I have a small, foldable 2 wheeler I’ve had for many years to do the moving. And since this cab weighs about half of what all my old Eden, SWR’s, Mesas etc did, it’s an easy lift for me. I’ve even had it happen a couple of times where I’ve forgotten my 2 wheeler and just carried this cab in from the parking lot to the stage no problem. Not something I want to do every weekend but definitely something I couldn’t do with the ole Eden!

So does anyone have experience using a tube pre/di vs the Genzler or the augilar tone hammers or something not with tube. But still able to do the fx pretty much to no diff. I mean I’ know like that’s like guitsr an amp with no tubes vs solid state? But I don’t know as much on bass when it comes to this type of break up a tone I’m after not distortion just clean breakup. Goose thier bass player has a tone I love. An alot of the 70s funk players but i love how the Gnezler or I feel it is such a strong bass eq head an I maybe able to get there without a tube pedal an rally make work. I know the 4 on floor is solid but if possible it would be cool to have something be a DI to. But if I have to I’ll get a cheaper DI to use just to process signal of the new pedal I end up getting. If I don’t go this route I think I’ll end up getting the subway di/ or genzler di pedal as my spare an use both an eq type
Pedal in addition to my sushi underground. Im was hoping one DI/pre in same pedal that would give me tone an the filters/eq
I need/ or should say want.

I'm not sure what you're asking if you're talking about DI at the end of chain, that EQ is for FOH or to EQ for the room your playing in. There are also eqs and tone shapers that go in front of your pedals like the Empress para EQ or origins effects DCX, does that clear anything up for you?

Ahh yes very much. See I come
From knowing guitar gear very well anntone but I was meant to play bass now I’m getting to bigger PAs an that I’m
Learning by fire. An I just am A really big tone nerd as we all sre an I just wasn’t that forward in mix tuby bass tone I hear in some players. To clear it up sorry I get ADD haha.
So I have a DI in my genzler Magellan 800 which is amazing so I know I’m set most of thr time with that. I’m looking to see if I can score a good DI pedal with Eq features like
HPF an LPF an just enough eq controls to help me dial in more like a tube/pre or a pedal replicating that. The Di part of Eq is just having a backup if I ever need it for some reason an I’ll still get my solid tone. But I know I can get cheaper DIs so that just DI. I’ve just been witnessing how much thr HPF an LPF help dial in a sound having eq type features like boosting mids cutting lows for rooms is a nice feature. Hoping I make sense more I’m sure I’m over thinking it. Like it seem like a preamp pedal is really all I need an take it from there.

If you have a DI you like and just want lph/hpf then get one of those lpf/hpf pedals.
