I've been using my Genzler rig (magellan 800 and 2 BA 12-3's) for about a year and a half now. I love it and just want to take a second to thank everyone for this thread. Even though I haven't had a need to contact Jeff, I really appreciate his presence here too. And a big shout out to Gollihur Music. I recently had an opportunity to use it in the studio and have a decent recording with it, even though the mix is kinda trebly and lost some low end that rounds out my sound. (it sounds even better live)

You NEED to get the new GLXD16+ with 5.8 GHz... Too much in the 2.4 GHz space these days with WiFi, Bluetooth and other devices fighting for bandwidth.

Note that 5.8GHz range is significantly less than 2.4GHz and is more impacted by objects (like humans) in the path.

Was just going to say that… in perfect line of sight it might be better but going through objects 2.4 is better. Shure uses frequency hopping so even in a congested band it’s usually ok.

Is there any appreciable difference between the Series 1 BA410-3 and the Series 2 version? I do see it's 1200 watts vs. 1000 watts, a few # lighter, new speakers, a bit wider frequency range, and 1db greater sensitivity.

But, for all practical purposes, anything so sonically better to not opt for a nice used Series 1 box?

@nervous ---- thanks for the inquiry and I guess I'm one of the best persons to comment. You've stated the main features and statistical differences, and certainly there are some tonal differences.
The Series 2 will have more top-end clarity, and articulation, along with a little more LF depth.
BUT, if you're judging a nice used Series 1 BA410-3 cab that might be available, I've mentioned several times that the Series 1 is still among the best of the best when it comes to the most premier cabs on the market that are available to players. And if you have a line on a used unit in good shape, you're certainly going to get a great value for the money spent.
And the Series 2 will be more money against that cab.
If you do have a few other questions you can certainly PM me.

I just can't pass on the like new BA410-3 with cover that I will pick up in a couple hours. Plus it's slim pickin's on quality gear right now. It will be great I am sure as I have read nothing but glowing reviews. I am embarrassed to say it's my first bit of Genzler gear as I have always been hardcore GK or Berg. But I had some conversations with someone yesterday that convinced me this is worth a try.

I have a 45 minute acoustic opener slot for a national artist coming up so I’m trying to retrain myself to play my five string electric parts on a four string EUB. The brain (and hands and arms) are getting a workout! Sounds nice through my MG350/MG112T though!

Exactly! I switched to the yellow contour, made a small tweak to it, and it sounded perfect. No need to do anything else.

@Holdsg --- thanks for sharing. Really nice to hear how you're able to get what you need from your GENZLER rig for your bass and keys needs.

On a personal note --- I've always had a soft spot for the earlier Zeppelin tunes, as they were my first concert I ever saw back in the later 60's (jr high).
LZ opened for The Who on LZ's first concert swing in the states after the release of their first album.
Man was I a pimple faced, star struck kid, that could not get enought loud guitar riffs at that time. We had no idea who this band was openning for The Who and when Page pulled out the violin bow for Dazed and Confused, my little crew guitar playing crew lost it.
