I have the input volume at 11, no pad. Normally master is at 9, but on the bandstand with all open air (no walls) master at noon felt right, even though that was a first. Nothing but beauty.

Input at noon; I NEVER use a pad switch with any bass on any amp. You lose a lot of punch and frequency response IME. A keyboard, yes.
My OCD wonders about the BA15-3 Series 2 vs. the original. Anyone have any experience? I’ve read the tens are the most different in the new series and it is DEFINITELY my experience. The BA10-3 series 2 sounds waaaaaaaaaaay different than the original.
So for most of the live players that tour, an have the magellan head. Are you guys using the DI out of the head most of the time? or using your own pedal? Jw what most do I’m finally starting to get to where I’m messing with tone a little now I have my cabs an all that figured. About to buy my first preamp pedal. No DI but I’ve used or just messed with the DI from Magellan an I guess Idk how it compares to a lot of pedals an other heads DI, but it sounded really good on scarlet interface and then just hooking it up to Pa speakers to test DI it sounded really good. But as mentioned I don’t have a lot of experience with DI an then getting “the tone”’from the stage to FOH. I’ve been told it’s a little more challenging with bass to accomplish.

Not necessarily, it depends entirely on how it’s accomplished.
That had always been my experience as well. That said, on the MG800 I did find that to be far less the case then say any of my GK classs D amps. First time I used a pad with one hotter bass and was happy with it. I will have an opportunity this weekend to experiment with all this some more but I have a better baseline from the info offered here.

I never noticed a huge difference between the two series with the BA15-3. Yes, a little more high end on top with Series 2. But, both deliver the deep low-end punch equally. Agree the 10’s are a different story.
I always use my di and post eq - once sound check is done - no adjustments to the eq (except to use the drive channel which is at unity gain compared to the clean channel)
every sound man thus far has had nothing but positive comments (after that fact)

I use the Magellan DI with confidence at every show. I use Pre EQ, Mic level and of the 1000s of shows I’ve played, not one complaint from FOH.
I put my pedalboard directly into the input of the Magellan and my tone is solid to the FOH and the Bass Array cabs.

I always use the MG350 DIs (I have two), although for one show I used a Khan DI to see how that sounded with a Jazz bass, rather than the usual Starfire. It was nice, but really the Magellan DIs are wonderful and I've had nothing but praise from all the engineers who have used them. I send it post EQ, mic level, no pad. I love these amps!
May not need to move towards the NC115…the NC210 sounds great with yet another head.
What can’t these cabs do?

I use a 210 and keep a second 210 at home…for outdoor shows I bring both.
