Got a question for Jeff...... have you ever thought of using B&C drivers in any cab designs in order to get a higher SPL rating per cabinet?

Even the better full range 12" Faital Neos are usually rated only in the 97 to 98 db range, where the better full range 12" B&C Neos are rated in the 100 to 101 db range.

And the rule says 6 dbs SPL is almost like doubling the volume. Just wondering.

No plans at this time. We have figured that this amp is small enough that it can fit into most pockets of padded instrument bags. As well it could be used with the Magellan 800 bag with a little extra padding on the bottom of the bag. We continue to evaluate this so, we're listening...

Thanks for the question. It is a good question. We have reviewed many speaker vendors and various component designs as we've evaluated the specific drivers we use. In this regarding we evaluate all parameters, including SPL.
While SPL is important and I prefer a higher SPL driver in general, the other IMPORTANT factor when working with NEO drivers is the response curve.
Most NEO drivers have a tendency to show a spike in the response in the 2 - 3K range. This is an artifact that we have isolated as unappealing response and we do all we can to avoid drivers with dramatic spikes in this range.
The 10" and 12" woofers we use offer Fiber-glass former's as part of the voice coil assembly, instead of the more traditional materials of Kapton, Polyimide, etc.
This along with other design elements gives us the tone we're looking for and a more flat response in this range.
Depending upon the speakers you're comparing, there may be a couple of dB difference here and there but we feel our choice for high performance drivers is a big part of what players have appreciated in the performance and reliability of their GENZLER AMPLIFICATION cabinets.

My MG800 was killin it this week.. CONTOUR "B" saved me too..

I started with Contour "A" engaged a little.. Then i lowered it to zero. There was a BOOM in the room . . So I engaged Contour "B" ... Contour "B" rolls off some DEEPER lows and upper highs.. . The stage tightened up a lot.. We have full production, and i have two floor wedges in front of me usually . I don't need to put many LOWS onto the stage. The PA makes that fat on my body move as it is.
Contor "A" made it easier to hear.. we play pretty low on stage actually.. Not too Low . .but just right... . Its the FOH that will rattle you. My Boss Casey was using a few of his coveted tube amps but just recently went to the Kemper.. Its the best thing ever! He modeled all of his vintage amps in Nashville studio.. You cant tell the difference between the real deal and the Kemper .. Volumes are Low. I love it

I got this rack shelf..Middle Atlantic Products UTR1
.... After removing the amps rubber feet I used the amps bottom rubber Feet Mount screws to secure the amp to the shelf..
Only 3 holes lined up correctly so i had to drill the shelf to get the last one in.

I could give a report on two BA12-3's with one BA10-2 but not the other way around. Could have the other day but didn't think to try that combination.

Nice! Sounds like a really fun gig! Were you going through the wedges or did you have the Magellan 2x12 on stage? Or both?? Inquiring minds.

I've played with a coupla guitarists that use a modeling device (not sure what name brands). They sure can sound good! My issue is that they (the guitarists) tend to run their tones "full range". IOW, they push too much low end. Really mucks up a mix.

Don't get me started on keyboardists......Oy!

I use the wedges and teh MG212.. Stage is much lower in VOL than i anticipated .. First gig that i am not wearing any earplugs.. HA...
He is using the Kemper.. He modeled all his amps in a great studio in nashville with the best mics and engineer available. No one can tell the difference between the real amps or the Kemper.. So he doesn't have an over accentuated low end. .Thank God. And the rig is just for his monitor so he plays reasonable. I have to ask to have guitar put in my wedge.. Since when have I ever done that? NEVER! lol

Oh yes. I am with you 100%,, don't get me started on keyboard players .. .Especially they guys that play what i call BROADWAY Style where they play everyone's part.. ughhh

We have 4 more days this week. then off for 2 weeks then the west coast. Then done fr me while he does stuff on east coast.. Im heading out on dates with my ex boss deb gibson meanwhile and when home Ill do my local clubs and theaters ..
