Genzler Amplification Club

From 11 years ago. I’m sitting in with the same group tonight! I still have those basses but am going to use my Classic P tonight. Amp will be my Genzler MG350/112T-V instead of the Genz Benz stack. No snow on the ground this year either. Sunny and nice today. Almost 60 degrees.

I made the executive decision to take my WD-800/Subway 115 to my first tech rehearsal of my current theatre show on Monday night. When we rehearsed last, in the school auditorium space we'll perform in, I used the mighty Genzler 110 combo, but I think I want a bit bigger voice for this production. I may get the hammer from the sound tech, but I've worked with him before for other shows, and he's given me pretty free choice on amps as long as I'm not too loud. I must say that the Mesa gear is a bit more intimidating, even as compact as it is, than the tiny Genzler combo. I'll report back in next week.

Any users of the NuClassic cabs, have you played a stack of the 1x12 and the 2x10? I saw a demo using this setup and it seemed to sound great, and the ability to just take one or both as needed is appealing.
yes, but also look at the NC115. This is what I play through.

Curious, why did you switch from the 12’s to 15’s ?
Sorry, I missed seeing this.
I like the sound of the NC115 plus I am not playing out as often and the economics of the NC series was attractive to me. The NC115 has this deep smooth rounded sound that ceramic drivers can produce.

Hanover,PA?!? Seriously? My dad was born there in the 1930s, and my grandparents and lots of his side of the family lived there most of their lives. I remember it as a pretty small town, although I haven't been there since my grandmother passed away more than twenty years ago. What is the venue pictured?

My father's father used to work at the Hanover Clothing Store, owned by HIS father (my great grandfather) and passed down to the oldest brother,my great-uncle Harry.

Does it also have a good midrange presence that holds its own in a mix? That seems to be key for pitch definition. You can always scoop to taste but can’t really add what’s not there.

Can anyone tell me if you can fit a Mag 800 in the combo bag with the BA10-2-S2 instead of a Mag 350?
Thanks for the question. The Combo carry bag was designed to carry the combo with the MG-350 amp attached to the BA10-2 cabinet. The MG-800 would be a very tight fit next to the BA10-2 cabinet when placed inside this bag and it would not have much protection.
I would not recomment that.

With the pre-amps and basses I use, I don’t feel any lack of pitch definition. For my use the one NC115 does everything I want; I do have a 12” cab to pair with it if needed (have not needed it). These NC series 15” are not like the “old school” 15” cabs of yesterday.
