Genzler Amplification Club

I've read a ton of this thread now, and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who's contributed. There is a huge wealth of knowledge captured here. I've got a Magellan head now, I liked the features of the 800 and I was able to find one used to pair with the NuClassic 2x10.

One thing that is exciting for me is that I also have a Magellan Pre pedal, so I can continue to use my small pedalboard live for my usual DI/IEM situation, but I have the head and the 2x10 for home use or to bring when the cab might be helpful, and my primary tone should be pretty consistent either way.

I can always add a 2x10 if needed but I'm not sure I will need to. I kind of wavered between getting a 2x10 or just a single 2x12, but I'm happy with the way it sounds.

I didn't mind the Ampeg SGT-DI I was using before, but I like the Pre pedal a lot better, it's a lot more flexible.

Loving my new Genzler pedals for an I home board I just set up, that empty space is going to be for a line 6 HX One, for random effects like pitch shift every now and then. One question though, why.. oh why did Mr. Genzler and Agedhorse decide to put the inputs for the preamp at the far left end of the preamp? In any standard pedalboard that mean your input has to jump all your outputs (if you had DI outputs and line out connected). Also means your standard patch cables have to be 6 inches or longer to barely make it from your previous pedal to the preamp.

Yes, because on the preamp with substantial gain and multiple full +4dBu line level plus headphone outputs, the inputs and outputs follow the signal flow which results in less internal crosstalk and noise.

This is standard practice in pro audio class products, and there are other bass preamps that follow this as well.

If you put the preamp on the right side, only one cable crosses over.

I’m so excited to pick up my Magellan 350 (coming with 2 Seismic cabs 210 and 115) and at a price I absolutely could not pass up. I’m planning on using it with my Markbass 104HF cab. Has anyone else paired these together? Curious about what to expect from that setup. Probably picking up a Crashbox 4 also for some distortion when needed.

I’ve played and owned so many heads over the last 40 years and based on all the reviews I just can’t wait to plug this thing in!

and by “pairing these together” I only meant the Magellan 350 and the Markbass 104hf, NOT including the seismic cabs.

Oh my. What an experience. I've heard of bands burning the place down, but no literally. Hope everyone impacted is OK.
