JJ, I’ve done a few of these morning TV events, so what you went through with setup and soundcheck in the studio is familiar. I have always been presented with a small monitor to use, like a QSC 10 or 12. I’m surprised that you were able to bring your 410 to the show. Did you actually run through that live as a monitor?

Nice! We did get some small monitors to use. We just ran vocals through them and a pinch of keyboard and guitar. As far as volume goes, we’re all seasoned enough to keep things at a reasonable level based on venue/situation etc. I was running the master on about 2 and I had the pad button engaged on the amp. Funny enough the engineer told us to play as loud as we wanted….but we’re no spring chickens and value our hearing (or what’s left). He has been with the station over 25 years and shared some stories….one in particular was a band from Australia that played on the show sometime back. A hard rock act with 2 guitar players that brought two 4X12 cabs each with 100 watt Marshall heads and the bass player had a couple of 8X10 cabinets. He said he thought the roof was going to blow off the place they were so loud…. Anyhow, we had fun for sure and took it easy on them.

My how Carteret has changed. I spent a lot of time there as a kid in the 50's and 60's and there was nothing like this. My grandparents lived a few blocks from the PAC's location.

I decided to round out my 350 / 10-2 combo with a 2nd 10-2 cab. This definitely added a bump to the low end.
I also use the 10-2 with the NC-112 as another option.
With EQ set flat, the 10-2 stack is tight and punchy. The 10-2/NC-112 has a rounder, bloomy bass response.
Both options work, but I lean towards the 10-2 stack with the bass and low mid EQ boosted a bit.
Will see how it works out for some upcoming Spring shows!

So I currently have a BA410-2 and a crown power amp with two separate channels. If I added a BA115 to the rig, would it make sense to stack the 410 on top of the 115 and send a clean signal to one half of the power amp and the 115, and a dirty signal to the other half of the power amp and the 410? Or would I potentially run into phase cancellation issues with that

Same for me. I spent a bit of time vacillating over whether to add a BA 112 or a second BA 110 and decided on a second BA110 which I'm just about to order. Glad to hear your report and that your experience is what I've always been expecting from doubling up on the BA 110.

@ Challanger2 --- Thank you for considering this additional purchase and for using our gear. About this potential set up, certainly placing the 15" cab under the 410 is the first step. As for signal routing a distorted signal to the 410 and clean signal to the 15, I think you'd need to experiment with that, soncially. I don't think there would be cancellation issues but experimentation would be the first step. I've never tried that. I myself would consider blending a clean and distorted signal in the signal chain somewhere so both cabinets produce a blended partial clean/partial distorted. That would be my first thougth BUT, if you've got the 2 channel amp to use, I'd give your plan a try too. With your Crown amp it would allow you to blend the output at the amp with how much signal goes to each cab. You might find that very little distorted signal gives you what you want, or the other way around.
Season to taste....

Well it didn't take long for me to get an order placed. My dealer had three BA10-2 S2 at the beginning of the week. This AM there was only one left and Jeff's site says they're on backorder so today was time to buy it. Now the rig will be complete and I can't say more than I have previously about how much I'm enjoying it.

My experience with the 4 OTF is also going well. I admit that it takes a little time to discover all of it's nuances but for my needs it's perfect for adding just a dash of grit and some harmonics without having it change my basic tone and voicing. Jeff, you and Andy sure build some good stuff.

I have been more than pleased with my MG350 combo and BA10-2 extension cab. After using and loving a variety of Genz-Benz gear, I was excited to hear that Jeff had started Genzler Amplification. I purchased a Magellan 800 early on and was impressed with how it just seemed to have this effortless heft to the notes. That aspect reminded me of the feeling that I had when I first started using a Streamliner 900…only with more immediacy. When the MG350 combo came out, I was torn…I simply loved my Shuttle 3.0-10T and its matching extension, but I had to try the new guy out. The Shuttle was no slouch, and still represents a phenomenal tiny rig with a big voice. That said, I found that the little Magellan combo, either alone or with its extension cab, just covered more of my playing situations that would have had me grabbing my next size up rig. I recently played an outdoor gig with no PA support and some musician friends kept commenting on how clear and present the bass was in the mix.
…and when the owner of the company takes the time to call on a Saturday to answer questions…what’s not to love?

Clean mountain air or smog laden city air? The latter would be more dense and occupy less volume I would think.

Oh you are more than welcome sir. Everything you said to me about the Bass Array Cabs during our phone conversation is spot on. There hasn't been even a single day of regret I've had since buying the MG350 Combo. And how many times does one call a company and talk to it's owner about them personally? Your service to the bassist community is as outstanding as your products. I'm in the Genzler Army for life now.

Well….tonights backline got the job done….but definitely a far cry from the sweet sounds of my Genzler rig! We’re playing over at the Austin Rodeo BBQ cookoff again tomorrow afternoon and I’ll be using another provided house rig, then we’ll be hightailing it over to the Stardust Club to finish off the night. I’ll have the Genzler going full steam ahead for that one. Amazing how far superior the BA410 is to that Ampeg!
