I run the Magellan 2x12 on the 15-3 when I need to be devastating. Hiding behind the stack pictured is 2 Uber 15 cabs and a BA 210-3 is just to the right. Best bass cabs ever in my humble opinion. My current dream cab is an Uber 8x10. I know they aren’t practical anymore but the look is imposing on stage, not to mention the tone.

I've thought about making the move to the Kinetix, but I don't know. I love the idea of the multiple preamp tubes. I have an SVT3-Pro and just love the way that thing sounds. I love the sound of my Finally DI into the Magellan, but you can really tell a difference with the SVT3 and its multiple preamp/drive tubes. I had a GK Fusion 800 S before my Magellan and it had 3 preamp tubes and I loved the sound of that, but I didn't get along with the DI out on that one and it was just way too bright overall as an amp. Either couldn't dial it out or if you did, you killed the tone.

On the Kinetix, I saw someone else asking, does the clean stay clean or at least until you dig in hard? I am not looking to emulate a pushed old school tube SVT. I am not into that sound. I like the multiple preamp tube sound that is clean but has those nice harmonics and break a little when you dig in.
The Kinetix looks and sounds like the Genz Benz STM-900. I love the warmth of the tube preamp, especially when there are three. It's difficult to get 250-300v to the tube plate and I think Genzler does this very well without having to lug around a traditional tube head. I'm going for a vintage 80's type sound.

I'm curious about the sound of 2 x 10-2 BA cabinets vs a single NC-210.

I know the 10-2 pair would be running at 4 ohms vs 8 ohms with the NC-210,
but balanced for volume, any observations on the overall tone and bass response?
@wblaze --- Thanks for your interest in our cabs. I can add a few comments from the design side of things but perhaps others might comment as well. I think you've made the most important comment that when comparing these 2 options, yes a big difference will be the 4 ohm load of the two BA10-2-S2 cabs vs the NC-210T at 8 ohms. The other important difference will be the dispersion and clarity you'll experience with the Bass Array cabs. I like to describe that the BA cabs deliver with more finese than just the brute force of power from a more traditional cabinet, like the NC-210T.
When you get off-axis with the BA cabs, you still hear the full body of the instrument with very little fall-off.
If you wanted the biggest punch from 1 cab, I'd go with the NC-210T, but if you're looking for more versatility, perhaps using just 1 cab when needed, and looking for more sonic clarity and detail, then the Bass Array is the way to go.
Hope this helps.

Anyone out there have an original Genzler 112T ? I love the midrange sound on these.
@Troy Cartledge ---- Not sure if you or others are looking for one of these original MG-112T cabs but one of our dealers in NC, Bass Puckers has a mint condition cab. This is the wider cab version with the triangular ports. Give Greg a call if so.

Hi, this is a heck of a thread, and admittedly I didn't search well, but... I am considering mixing a BA-10-2 Series 1 and 2. I own a Series 1 already, and use it with a PF-500 for smaller gigs (300W RMS 8 ohms 500W RMS 4ohms). Thoughts on adding another BA10-2 but a brand new Series two for a stack? Will the watt ratings (250 vs 350) make a difference? I should be at max for the S1 and 100W under for the S2, but I dont know how speaker efficiency works into this. Also since they are likely different drivers, tonally, will it get wonky sounding? My bigger gig cabinet is a Schroder 1210 and it weighs like 80lbs, I'm gettin old!

Thanks!

The Series One and Series Two cabs will play well together. What you're likely to find is the Series Two has more low end output and broader tonal dynamics. As for adding a second cab, which I just did to my MG 350 Combo, the difference is both obvious and very much better from standpoint of filling the room. It's not 1+1 = 2 as much as it is 1+1 = 4 because your getting more amp output and more speaker cone area.

The speakers will easily handle the 500w output from you PF-500 as each cab will see only 250w and I doubt you'll even notice when played together that one cab may sound slightly different than the other. The sounds of each cab will just blend into one sound. As for the rest you've discovered what I and many others have. We don't need 80lbs of speaker cab any longer to have a great sounding rig.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply.

The Genzler web site shows the Series 2 to have a sensitivity of 97 dB. I have notes for the Series 1 spec at 96 dB, so the series 2 is slightly more sensitive.
This is correct. But specs aside the Series 2 sounds deeper and with more clarity with the newer drivers so it does feel a little more prominent. Sensitive is one thing, clarity is another.

I agree with @Hawk620's comments. No worries about combining the two series of cabs. BTW, there is only a 50W difference in the power ratings of the two series. Thanks for using our gear.
It’s great! my local friend and bass player Lawrence Haber, turned me on to your gear. He’s one of your endorsing artists.

Hello all. I've been thinking about HPFs lately. I'm very happy with my MG-350. I know it has an HPF in it from reading this thread but it is not in the published documentation. Did Jeff make a statement about that long ago that I couldn't find? Why isn't it in the documentation? Thanks everyone!
Yes all our amps have a preset HPF. This is set just around 30 hz, and is a step Slope for LF clarity and cleaner depth.
