I recently started using a Darkglass Super Symmetry compressor and like it. It warms up the tone a bit like a tube compressor, and has really good metering. Worth checking out.

I tried one of those. I don't use a compressor for my stage bass sound - and will never do so; but I agree with your assessment.
Like it a lot. It's the only gig I've done with both 10-2's. It's a fantastic hit-it-and-quit-it rig that punches above its weight/size. I was out the door in under 10 minutes after the gig. Joy!!
The drummer I played with on the gig is great and a buddy of mine. He said something to the affect (effect??) that it was full and clear without being loud.
My 10-2's have broken in nicely. I really couldn't be happier with them or the MG800.
I use an Empress Compressor, and it can be amazingly subtle and transparent.
I have been using a Keeley Bassist compressor in the band where I use my pedalboard. I use it as an "always on" effect, and have been very happy with it. Easy to set, and is quite transparent.

What I really wanted to "demonstrate" is that the rig (although only with 2 cabs) handled the 6 multiscale, 6 fretless, as well as my takes on a Sting (which I call Manta) and P (which I call Q) without any issues - each bass sounded as it was meant to be, and the only thing I did was switch between C A and C B.Yaaawwwwnnnnn!

I bet I have all the Genzler owners here beat for how many Genzler 800's I've owned. I have my 5th new one coming to me now after foolishly trading or selling the other ones before. I've been on the endless search for the perfect bass head over the last 1.5 years and have tried basically every head you can imagine. Seems as thought nothing gives me the complete tone I need and desire other than Genzler. I will say this as far as looks, build, and running quiet nothing and I mean nothing comes close to the Genzler 800. I've owned amps that cost more but looked and felt cheap in comparison. Jeff makes some of the best bass gear I've ever had the pleasure of using.

The only head that is close IMO is the Aguilar AG700 and I like it alot. I feel as though the Aguilar has Bottom clarity and ease of use while the Genzler just sounds better in a full band setting. The Aguilar seems cheap in comparison to the build of the Genzler. I didn't like the Mesa D800+ at all and purchased one 2 different times to give it a shot. To me there isn't anything compares to the cabs of Genzler.

No matter how much i've tried i could NEVER get a sound that im happy with on an aguilar amp.. I used to get them on backline at times.. Now the rider says ANYTHING but aguilar.. hahah TRUE.

I bought the Magellan 800 as soon as it came out. My search for bass heads then came to a quick halt.
Question for MG 800 owners - how many use the drive channel? Why do you use it? So far I have only used the "clean" channel. I alternate between the A contour (mid scoop) and B contour (vintage) depending on the song.

I use the drive channel for most of my "clean" signal tones to add a bit of grit without going crazy. When I am using distortion / fuzz / synth effects I will generally switch to clean, as it clears up the signal to allow the effect to do what it does. I also play in a pretty aggressive rock band, so I like having a bit of grit in my tone for most songs.
I love the Aguilar gear sounds when others are playing it. However, Aguilar and I just don't get along.
The AG700 had my interest up when it came out, mainly due to its simplicity. I was also interested in the B|Amp for awhile, but then the reality set in that I'll NEVER use all that stuff it does.
But the fact is, I just need to stop looking at amps. I'm so completely, 100% happy with how my rig sounds, and I very much doubt anything else will make me happier.
Yeah, I haven't even thought about another amp since I got my Genzler rig. If anything I will most likely end up adding a third BA12-3, but that's about it!
Now, basses, on the other hand.. completely different story. I have, over the past year, bought 3 different, sold two, ordered one Dingwall NG-2 .. just picked up a Caprice this morning, and I'm selling my Dimension .. but I think I have zeroed in on my jam, bass wise. Passive PJ all the way! Well, aside from the Dingwall, which is going to be a bit of an experiment.
Running 3 of the 12-3 arrays is amazing and even running 2 of the 210-3 arrays is killer. Deep down I've always been satisfied with my Genzler 800 but the endless search for tone has gotten to me. I've tried many diffrent heads with my arrays and nothing has the complete tone that the Genzler has paired with them.
I'm pretty well set in the bass department now too, although I might end up trading the SSI on the right for a Thumb NT 6. Maybe.
I'm happier with my Bass gear right now than I've ever been. Here are the newest basses I play with my Genzler amp gear. By far the best basses I've ever had in my hands.
