To quote Ringo on Rishikesh and Heinz beans:
It’s all a bit hard to remember now. I was only there for two weeks, then I left. I wasn’t getting what I thought I would out of it.
The food was impossible for me because I’m allergic to so many different things. I took two suitcases with me, one of clothes and the other full of Heinz beans (there’s a plug for you). Then one morning the guys who were dealing with the food said, ‘Would you like some eggs?’ And I said, ‘Oh yeah, sure,’ and the next morning they said it again. I thought, ‘Oh yeah, great – things are looking up.’
Then I saw them burying the shells. That was the first of several incidents that made me think that it was not what I thought it would be. You weren’t supposed to have eggs inside this religious and spiritual ashram. I thought: ‘What do you mean, you’re burying the shells? Can’t God see that too?’
We came home because we missed the children. I wouldn’t want anyone to think we didn’t like it there. I said it was like Butlins holiday camp, we had learnt by then that you could say anything and they’d print it. It was a good experience – it just didn’t last as long for me as it did for them.

Ringo is far from the first, or last, to find enlightenment inside an ashram in a way likely not intended 
My personal experience with that sort of thing is pretty close to Ringo's. Was 79? Yeah it was 79 when I was first invited to study. What I have personally seen is 3 out of 4 "teachers" are not worth the time of day.
One teacher I hold recent personal experience with .... a highly skilled lady who still runs weekly silent meditations that I decline to join ... said she left her ashram when she saw others taking their flip flops to the tinker for repair. That's too poor for me, she related. Reasonably certain I never saw her eat beans. She did eat eggs every day. That was pretty much her diet, a veggie egg omelette for lunch. I never saw her eat my black pudding <shrug>
My first teacher ... the 79 one ... the darshan is so deeply profound I still carry that 40 years on. And most grateful. Unlikely to see him again in this life, and so it goes.

Both interesting, but different as you said. I like the Sam and Dave music but the uptempo of The Attractions is good.
Elvis dancing is right up there with Elaine.

Wavy Gravy ran for president as Nobody on a similar platform. "Nobody will stop war" etc. The button that graces this Ampeg BA-108v2 (plus) was a gift from an actual Hollywood producer who wished to extend our professional relationship to a personal relationship. Credit given for accurately ascertaining my tastes.
A couple minutes with Gunhild reminded me this is not the first I've heard her perform. I may have learned of her here at TB?

Both Kirk and Mahavishnu are worth a revisit, I reckon. And Casady / Jorma are always good value.

You might want to check out some more of her vids (and her whole family band), that's only like her 15th instrument or something. And she can and does play three instruments at once, and is also an incredible singer. Still not RRK though, of course...no one is!
Three trumpets, simultaneously. I was at a party once where a guy played two, but three was a new one on me until I saw her do it.
