Happy Saturday GOFs

Growers' Market is closed for the year, which means my Saturday mornings are free until May.

We didn't do a Friday roll call, where's Will? Ten fingers, ten toes, all body parts present and able. I'll need to check but fairly certain there are no conference calls today or to-morrow. A few key players are in Miami right now and are otherwise engaged. Except thanks to the sonic screwdriver I carry around, pretty well in touch with everyone in Real Time.

What's the best Beatles song to play in the rain?

Octopus' Garden

I was today years old when I learned this!
I grew up knowing who Quincy Jones was...thanks to my older sister...my becoming a bass player...Thank you Louis Johnson

But never even heard of David Foster until 20 years ago( cough) and I moved from UK to Vancouver

I should ad that I did not know what a musical genius he is...and I am deeply humbled watching that special on PBS....and in awe....this boy from Victoria BC ...such talent

The markets that I patronize are selling Christmas trees’n’stuff as well as roasted nuts. Still need to trek out to feed the birds then head downtown. It should be crowded with only three shopping weekends left.

Black Friday brought me some new walking poles. Good for relieving back and leg strain. Especially good for walking on icy paths. One small slip is all it takes.

The elves tell me that they are running out of pedal parts, I’ll have to put together an order. It’s a tedious time consuming process that’ll take days.

Walking poles always seemed to me the sort of thing to take on a lunch hike.

Not all neighbors shovel their walk in a timely way. There is one in particular. It's a small set of flats, maybe two or three, and the owner (wherever he is) never clears the walk. Only this summer did he finally replace one concrete walk bit (whatever these things are called) that was broken and down to gravel. Good chance the city forced the landlord do that.

Took a fall three weeks ago an hour or so after the doctor injected my foot/ankle with cortisone. A step down that's longer than expected is always a surprise. Knowing how to fall is an art in of itself. Do it enough and you get good at it.

What's consistent is the old saw: [Someone We Know] fell and broke [third person pronoun] hip. The actual sequence of events is a weak hip breaks and then the fall because that's how bodies work. Bones and muscles work together :woot:

A stick like I use or even a cane can relieve a lot of pressure from the lower body. It might help with the foot as stress is being transferred to the device.

The one that I bought made by Leki. It replaced an older one. The folding type are good. They come with a spike on the end or a rubber foot.

These are somewhat delicate. I use them to assist on trails. I also use a longer wooden walking stick, it’s more like a staff. Heavier than a carbon fibre trekking pole but can take more stress. What force is applied to the stick is somewhat relieved on you.

Just returned from another honeymoon with Mrs. Dog, so no plans for this weekend. Oh, but, all systems are 'go'!
