At age 13 I was playing bass drum in a marching band, and that's when they were still full depth and made of solid wood.

Those marching band glockenspiel chicks have mallets.
IDK if I'd go "Regimental" in that weather.
And they'll wield them with 'mallets aforethought'.

I played trumpet in our HS marching band. We wore the “big hats.” It turns out that one could fit a 6-pack of cans in those hats.
I remember the girl who was co-captain of the drill team. Beautiful girl! We celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary today.
