Dark rum (Goslings) in a McThingy's Chocolate Shake...........oh my.....

Taken me the greatest part of my adult life to even begin to go near rum again. That one time is enough.* Currently palatable for me in eggnog. Given the choice with eggnog, I ask for brandy.

* The deeper teaching begins the following morning as my father pulls me out of bed to make me eat a full breakfast. Runny fried eggs, buttered toast, streaky bacon, all of it. That right there is 10,000 times worse punishment than any hangover.

Are you my long lost sister?....

My mistake of choice was Southern Comfort.....Still can't even handle the smell....:vomit:...

My breakfast torturer was my Grandfather.....almost identical tactics and Gawd help you if you didn't finish it...

Somewhere in that general time frame, but prior to The Breakfast, the captain of the sloop I often crewed (wow this is a long time ago, as not yet 18) insisted on rations of Pusser's rum. It's alleged (by its maker) to be the same rum the Royal Navy used for daily rum rations.

Not currently in line here to buy a bottle of Pusser's for the holidays.

Soak some raisons in dark rum for month or so. Use a glass sealing jar. A couple of shots of booze is all that’s needed. Very good in muffins.

Spent a very wet afternoon at Pusser's gaff on Tortola, playing crib with my wife and some of the locals.....

Much Pusser's was consumed......much......:D.....(Think I've still got a Pusser's tin mug that was the drinking vessel of choice on the day).....:)
