... spent a lot of time in the air and always gobsmacked when over the Alps, and Niagara Falls, and there was this one time coming into SeaTac that was one of the most beautiful moments I can recall. But of course it was fleeting as the entire point is about getting to work.
It is at work in snow swept Kansas where I'm on site with a programmer. It's he who tells me of this Navy - Marine thing. Exactly the story he told me is how he played the game called "Let's You and Him Fight". This involves getting a Marine and a Navy guy into a fight, and tipping off the MPs at the door as he exits.
:: smh ::
January 30 is the day The Beatles held their rooftop concert.
That's truly difficult to tell for me with any precision. My older (older by 11 years) sister is likely involved. She was keen on going to record parties. She wrote her name on her Beatles album, I suppose so she would know which was hers at the party. She gave me that album when she got bored with it. Which was, like, immediately.
Yet impossible to place, really, because it feels now like the Beatles were everywhere. Absolutely everyone, love The Beatles or hate The Beatles, were talking about them. My sister had already taught me The Twist. By 63, the radio and I were fast friends. "... and a Japanese transistor radio ..."
The what?Given my SO is in the financial industry, the first thing that came to mind when reading "FA" was Financial Advisor. Maybe, we can come up with a list that shows the similarities/differences between a flight attendant and a broker.
I trust you posted this in that IsoVent thread?![]()
I don't think the Captain woulda let me drive the last boat I was on(USS Enterprise, CVA(N)65).When I first travelled by air, stewardesses or hostesses had to be nurses, planes had propellers, many pilots learnt how to fly in WWII.
I used to get airsick in piston planes. Those engines would roar. This was a time when you could visit the cockpit and talk to the pilots. Sometimes I got to sit in his seat. Somehow, I felt more at ease and wouldn't puke. Same for ships. If the captain lets me drive the boat, seasickness subsides.
I was invited over here by @G-Dog stating I might enjoy the company here and the subject matter. He recommended I relate my recent experience during a hospital stay for 1 week while receiving a Bone Marrow transplant. As a back story to explain me a little better I am a retired Master Chief Hospital Corpsman and a retired Civilian R.N. I speak medical fluently. I am not a big fan of the so called "Medical Experts" who use medicalese to work their way out of uncomfortable situations. So I like to interpret for those who do not understand the language. As an example "The Prognosis is bleak" he/she is going to die. "I will have to consult with my peers on that" I don't have a clue. And the big one "The results are not in" I am even more clueless than my partner here. I am hated by the physicians, loved by the nurses, confuse the lawyers, and brought goodies by the ancillary staff. This time during Grand Rounds I would ask the difficult hard questions in their language and while they were mulling it over and grumbling, leave and go next door which was pediatrics for a few hands of Hold Em. Those Kidz are really good. A 3rd year medical student caught on to me and he was the only member of the Medical Experts who saw me regularly my last 3 days of my stay. Except the Hospital Administrator did come to see me to beg me to apologize to the medical staff for being an unruly patient 3 times. And I was banned from Pediatrics. So I did as the administrator requested and apologized to the medical staff by presenting the 3rd year medical student with a highly modified Sonic Blue Fender Mustang PJ for at least having a sense of humor and a great bedside manner. Others should try to take the hint.
Well do I qualify for being a Grumpy Old Fart- Stay Outta My Room!-?
Thank you for your time.

Hard to do. The Admiral was on the same bridge(not tunableIt never hurts to ask. Just wait for a good day. Maybe fake a note from an admiral.
).Blimey....This is turning into the Hallmark Thread!...They knew it was my birthday.Get back, Jojo...
Hey, happy Birthday!
Anyone can begin the day talking about doctors, nurses, hospitals. Takes a GoF to talk about that all day. Takes a Navy man to pick a fight with a Marine![]()

All the best with your medical journey.
Heard about people who refuse to serve on a ship with a floating bridge![]()
