So I cannot find a manufacturer name on that bridge and I have found a number of EB3's with like bridges on line. That doesn't mean truly much. I have read that these were heavily modified when new. Do you think it maybe a Ric bridge? It is not a problem as I am a huge Rickenbacker fan and this maybe as close to one as I may get. I don't think I have another 50 years in me. The main reason asked is it is currently under restoration and I may want to stop the bridge change. Thank you for any information you might have.

I think that this one requires some investigation to figure out what's going on. I've seen several different bridges on that model bass and wonder why. Sometimes it's monkey see monkey do, especially if someone famous performs a mod. Back in that era, there wasn't the choice of replacement parts that there was in subsequent years.

Here is an example of a 1969 EB-3. There is a shot of the bridge.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious listening to the sound samples. A modern SG <scrim smack> would be a great bass to own. But what's a gal to do without a tone choke on a mudbucker? I know, it's all useless and stuff, but still.... (The new Gibson Les Paul Tribute looks tastier by the day)

Was not prepared for the official TB instrument at 5:17.

My favorite is the drummer on the street throwing the drumsticks (2:30) and they bounce back. Impressive.

They black kettle drums have been around for a while (2:00). Here is a pic of my own set.

BTW, yesterday there was an older guy sitting 2 chairs away from me who was a singer in a wedding band when I was playing full time. Each of us remembered the others band. He was a front man/singer and as I remember it, a very good singer. We had a good time talking about the olden days. Sadly, it sounds like he is losing his battle and the chemo isn't helping as much as he hoped.

What little I'm able to glean at TB about the Les Paul Jr. Tribute bass sounds to me like everything else ever said about a new Gibson bass :whistle:

Short scales non-FSOs under a grand have my attention. But not my immediate attention. My attention in a few months kind of attention :rolleyes:

I never tried but it works now. TB often has glitches when they are doing administration work. They are usually short lived. Issues are discussed here, or you can log a help desk call (contact us at the bottom of the page). It can help to log out, then back in. That can clear up some issues.

A general rule of thumb: Never believe any internet product complaints or reviews unless they agree with your thoughts. Otherwise, you'd be too afraid to make any new purchases.

Think of a new toy as medicinal. Something to occupy your time will ease the pending healing process.

Particularly, if said new medicinal device turns out to be a total waste of money. :smug:
