IIRC, there was an episode of one of the "Star Treks" where "The Federation" saved a planet where the inhabitants were being wiped out by a virus. Where are they now?
Well fellow GOF's, I've been searching for TP high and low for a couple of weeks now. I finally played my GOF card at my local Walmart this morning (GOF's only from 6-7am on Tuesday) and scored this nice multi-pack of mega-rolls. Ready for the apocalypse now:

Rush hour this morning was about what you would see on a Sunday. Not much traffic. There aren’t many places open to go. It snowed the other day, the melting water helped clean the streets a bit of the stone and salt dust and gravel. When the cars pass by, they kick up a lot of dust which leads to respiratory problems. No chance that the city will get cleaning crews out now. Same story every year.

The shelves for paper products in the grocery were being loaded this morning when I arrived, there was a big pile of empty folded shipping boxes on the floor yet the shelves were pretty much empty.
There was a grand total of four big packs like you got when I arrived. I got one, the other three were snagged before I left the aisle. This was 5 minutes after the store opened!

I would try another browser. Microsoft Explorer comes with windows so you should have that on your system. I do not have javascript on my mac computer and have no issues with Talkbass image loading. I normally run Firefox, it is available for the PC and Mac.
As for Chrome, it has serious issues and could be the source of the problem. First I would check that you have the latest revision of Chrome and JavaScript. Sometimes an update can fix issues like you are having. You should also let Paul know what happened since turning javascript on, include the Chrome reversion number and the same for your Microsoft OS.

I find myself involuntarily coughing in sight of others in the public sphere

It came up with me yesterday when a group of six college aged kids were blocking a path in a park. No attempt to move. I wasn’t going to walk in the mud around them. I had to ask them to move in my own way.
The cops are apparently enforcing a new rule, no more than two in a group outside. I don’t like passing groups of homeless people. Many don’t look well at the best of times.
In other news to me, it seems that the word ombudsman is no longer sanctioned. It is either the office of the ombuds or ombudsperson. My online dictionary doesn’t recognize ombuds yet. I wonder what people are supposed to do if their family name ends in “man”. No doubt, a time will come when they will be forced to change it.
In women's hockey-prolly some of the toughest women there are-they refer to themselves as 'defensemen/man'. It's a genderless title. This PC
has gone way too far.There is, however, the Nordic-and others-'son' or 'dottir' ending of names.
