...thought I had a chance of finding a new, white, $17.99, CIC Precision Bass in my mailbox today.
...alas...
Yesterday...
The US Postal Service's automated system recognized the tracking #, recognized the fact that the inter webs says it was delivered...it was not...and asked if I would like to have them try to Re-deliver it!
The machine and I agreed that Today, (THE day that was to be Opening Day!!) would be a fine day to re-deliver that white, $17.99, Crafted In China, P-Bass...but it was not to be.

Limburger gets a bad rap. A Limburger and onion sandwich is a treat to see on the menu. A treat to order and a treat to eat. Not too many places offer that these days. Few places open these days.
And for the record, no intention here of eating an entire mini-wheel of Camembert at once. Dinner was to be about a quarter of that and a couple toast points.
I made sea scallops wrapped in bacon that I won't eat.
Almost everything I've seen on the rare times I check out one of the major's talk shows is geared to a much younger audience/demographic, including "stars" I've never heard of and "personalities" talking about who knows what. If I happen to see a band I like is gonna be performing, maybe. Otherwise, docs on cable or TalkBass for late night entertainment.I haven't watched late night TV since Letterman retired and they fired Craig Ferguson.
"Here!"Somewhere around here there are people who watched Jack Paar.
Almost stopped at asparagus(an old experience makes it impossible for me)but the rest sounds delicious. I'll hafta see what's in the pantry here shortly. Something microwaveable. We have asparagus n rice n some ground pork with sweet chili sauce about an hour away.

When I was young, I kinda liked that. Then I found out what it was.

Is that a grilled Limburger and fried onion sandwich?
You never specifically told Odin that he shouldn't eat the cheese. Maybe he thought he was being good by fixing his own dinner. Please don't fix him blueberry panckakes for breakfast.

Very little I fix that Odin doesn't want to try. He takes seconds and thirds on roasted cauliflower.
Asparagus season is very, very soon. My expectation is the people who vend at the growers' market are pretty not happy right now. Lots of greenhouses going full tilt about now for a market that may not happen.![]()
For some reason this brings to mind an old cartoon of a produce stand with 2 side-by-side bins. One sign said "Mushrooms-$7.50/lb". The other said "Mushrooms?-$2./lb."The problem with local asperagus here is that the cost is high, often $20 or more for four servings. In the last few weeks I've been buying kind of thin stock packets for $1 from Mexico, each enough for two servings. It's surprisingly good.
A delicacy that's quite difficult to find. Could happen were I a regular at a decent sushi bar. Maybe. Good place for me, eat at the pace I like and in the quantity I like, and there is sake. Not to be confused with raki, which always makes me raise my eyebrows.
