Yikes! People let it be known that they have valuable collectables at home sometimes find that they have a break in and the stuff stolen.

There are stories in the industry of this going on, even in small circles. One guy had a Hendrix guitar. It got to be so valuable that he sold it for peace of mind. He feared someone breaking in and stealing it and who knows what else. When he sold it, he did it in a very public way to ensure that people knew that he no longer had it.

Great video. The guy was interesting, funny, and non-PC. :thumbsup:

This brought back memories to when I worked in a factory during my college years and one of the guys I worked with was an audiophile. He was up on the latest and greatest audio equipment. I saw his home system. It was great and cost a ton back then.

I kind of look at the Return On Investment on what you are spending. I ended up buying a decent JVC rack system (with a turn table, of course) when I got out of school in the mid 80's. I still have it and use it almost everyday.

This is my comparison of stereos to basses:
Inexpensive all-in-one stereo = Squier or Ibanez starter bass
Decent rack system = MIA Fender Jazz bass
Expensive individual components (costing as much as the car in your driveway = Alembic Custom bass

Side note: A few years ago, my wife had a garage sale while I was at work. I get home and she had all of my old vinyl records setting out for sale for $.50 a piece. That was the closest I came to getting a divorce in over 30 years of marriage. :bawl:

OK, I questioned whether a 6 year old female singer was maybe using auto tune the other day and it was suggested I should probably belong to this group.:laugh: I've dabbled before but never been a regular card carrying member so I guess I'm grumpy enough and old enough to belong so dradnabit! Who gives out these golderned numbers around here anyway, and be quick about it!
