Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

A symphony of bull frogs! Some really wet weather passed through the last 2 weeks and I took Marmaduke out for a walk tonight on the gravel road thru the crawfish fields. My window is open now and I can still hear them going off-- the sound rolling left to right… bright quick honks responding to long slow croaks. The soundscape begins to submerge into itself and create wild different sounds with sharp echoes… looses itself to almost cycada sound.
The lightening bugs are still alive; they are firing up in the dense tall grasses on the levees. We're having a very late going Spring. Beats the hell outta summer. Also, me veggies are all looking happy.

If your talkin to me, yes the Z3 is a great lil car! But you can't hardly carry anything in it.. sadly I don't have it anymore.. I traded it for an X3.

As to the tag.. I don't think that 1bassplayin would want it. It is a US Navy tag from a redneck southern state!

Here is a pic of the old car!

Cute little BMW! Suggest you photoshop the lic plate out @1bassplayin.

i hope the engine lasts longer than my nephew’s Mini. :(
Neat, fun-looking cars that don't seem to last, based on the various unhappy owners (formerly happy, even formerly smug) who have various issues that are too expensive to keep them on the road. In a similar format with a much more bass friendly and long-running nature, the Honda Fit, ladies and germs - it lives up to its name.

Goodnight John Boy. :)

I love to read such writings. These are the parts of us that will surpass us. And sharing makes it even better. Thank you.

Well, gof's my friends I had quite a scare this week. Last week, my wife was sick with what was supposed to be a touch of flu. She kept getting worse, and by Sunday she was moaning and couldn't sleep. Monday I took her to the ER. We spent most of the day in there, blood tests, then scans, etc. They had a suspicion of what was wrong, but they wanted to be positive. They admitted her to the hospital. I of course freaked out. I lost my mom, dad, and brother, and last year, her mom passed. All hospital related. This was so scary. She was barely conscious but told me to hold it together and go home and get the house in order and take care of our dog, Shadow. He's a lovely soul, older, and such a great dog and friend.

It turns out she had blockage in her intestines of well, excrement that hardened. Sh had been trying a diet and there wasn't enough rouphage. So her blockage was hardened excrement. They put in an IV and filled her with bags of water and potassium, and electrolytes, and a "GI cocktail." Today she's no longer pale and feeling more like her old self. She was ordering me around and I irritated her a couple times and I was so happy when she told me. LOL.

Here's what I learned. After 29 years together, my wife is the best of me. She's the much better half of me. She knows me like no one else in the world. I can't con her, fool her, heck I can't even lie to her, she knows. She often knows what's best for me before I do. She reflects me and what reflects back is better than myself. In the beginning when we met I was a wandering minstrel and lived out of a trunk and two one ton Econolines with five other music people. I found gainful employment and glad I did, considering how awful the live scene is going. But when I went home last night the house was so empty. Everywhere I looked I could see and feel her.

I'm so glad she's coming home tomorrow noon. I'm so excited I'm doing laundry!!! And she never lets me do it! I'm polishing up everything and making it nice for her. She is the very best part of my life and I'm lucky to have her.

Thanks old farts for listening. Sorry but today I don't have a good reason to be grumpy. It's even sunshine outside! :)

I am happy for you both!

Thanks old farts for listening.

To me, it's an honor to share my friends up and downs, sorrows and treasures.

had been trying a diet

Please make her stop that. She is as thin as she needs to be! Balanced diet. If she wants to loose weight, smaller portions and exercise.

She often knows what's best for me before I do.

True, but it sux, because that's not always what fun for you :D

But when I went home last night the house was so empty.

I can relate to that, my brother. Just like when my father passed. For years I would look for him in the living room in his easy chair and he wasn't there. Very empty feeling! Thank God she'll be home tomorrow!

Sorry but today I don't have a good reason to be grumpy.

Amen! I hereby declare the next 24 hours NO GRUMPINESS for all us GOF's! Be happy!
