I was working at a custom furniture factory years ago and put my left hand into a table saw blade. Thumb and index finger mangled pretty good. 33 stitches later... thought I'd never be able to play again.
Be careful with them power tools... chain saws included. That is all.

Yikes, that scar tissue really suck on bass. Sheet metal incident before this last one ran a piece of stainless sheet into my left middle finger from a bench grinder. Can hardly see the scar on the surface, but it went deep and nasty. Didn't know it would be a problem until years later when... now. It seems there's a bunch of scar tissue that gets irritated when I play a lot. I can see it and feel a lump in there. Might be some metal in there too. Got to be careful with left middle fingers... GOF's need those for driving! Bandsaw about took my left pinky when I was in HS woodshop. I hate chain saws. I have one I hardly ever use. Dangerous monsters.

Well the guys that I have been working with in the band are coming around, they have realized that they have prostituted a few of the songs that they are doing and like the female singer said, "we have been playing these songs for so long, we never figured that someone would come in and try to play like it is on the record!" Duh! Really! She is a blonde, but I digress! The guitar player that was already in the band is learning, that he can't argue with me about how the progression of a song goes.. I can tell that he is not charting songs as he learns them.. and he is missing things! But I am having fun none the less! We may still make a song our own, but, the progress of chords will be done right and those hooks will still be there, in the right place!

When I was a kid I held a cherry bomb (or maybe something not as powerful) in my hand as it blew off as a dare. I've forgotten after all these years but reading the posts reminded me. It tore open the skin between my right thumb and first finger, so I can't spread those two digits as far apart as the left hand. Shooooot I was scared. This was right before I got a cheap "folk" guitar as they called them in those days. The doctor said I was very lucky I didn't do any nerve damage. As I look back now I think I had my guardian angel working on that day.....

Be careful with tools please. Your fingers are very valuable...

When you get more, just wrap the first in a soaking wet paper towel and stick in the freezer, cold twice as fast as the rest. Need a drinking tip? I've got 'em!

Picked up a couple of those Duncan slide tube dealeos, one brass one glass, to try on my messed up bird flippin' finger. Tried a bit last night. It's like re-learning to walk. I probably need to lower the strings. I think a bit of brain lube will get me to work it out. Also got a mixer and 5 microphones. Almost ready to gig (if I want to be thrown off stage). Does security check for rotten tomatoes at most gigs?

I like good quality beer, but try to save money. I was drinking Heiny at $22 or so a case from Sam's club, but if I get cases, I tend to drink too much once in a while. More than what's good for me at least. So I've gone to 12 packs from the grocery store, currently original Sam Adams. We used to have a non-franchised grocery that had an entire isle of imports, back when they actually imported beer. Best prices in town and it was before they hiked the taxes. Every Friday after work I used to get 6 of something I hadn't had before, 6 of something I knew was good and a third 6 of anything, then a large pepperoni pizza to go from Arnies or Pizza King, eat the pizza and drink the beer. Almost 30 years ago...

Have to add those to my list to test drive...

I was perfectly heal;thy, passed all physicals with flying colors, quit smoking, drinking and staying up late and began to excercise. Then I fell apart. I think I had a hostile environment to germs; if they got it, they got out or died. Trying to get back to that point...

OMG I hate tech writing! I like documenting what I design, in my own way, with drawings mostly. Yesterday afternoon I set out to do just that, network diagrams with a lot of complicated stuff to notate for the last three days work, then had half the power in the rack fail for unknown reasons. Normally VMware would fail over to the other two VM hosts as only one lost power, but one that didn't loose power was in maintenance mode and couldn't host any VM's. So I lost half our servers, stayed until 7 to get everything up and the third host out of maintenance mode. I hope I have enough chicken scratch on napkins to get it all documented when I get back. Ironically, if this issue had waited a week, everything would have been failover and redundant. :( I was a GAF about 7PM, hoping to leave before 5.
