RIP Prince. You were an important part of my young life. You spoke for many of us through your music. You were a revolutionary, visionary, and an outstanding musician. I understand that on more than one occasion you picked up a bass and created some beautiful bass lines for your songs. Tonight will be the night When Doves Cry.

57 is just way too young. Still all that talent and genius is back in the ether now - ready to be sucked into the next prodigal son or daughter.

I'll always remember the jaw dropping guitar solo Prince did on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at one of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame concerts. I was sort of ambivalent about his music at the time, but that solo just blew me away and made me take more notice of him.

Speaking of getting off the Lawn.. my Japanese Holly has more berries on it this year than ever! And the Bubby Bush is going to stay short I think and the SnowBall looks good too! And my pine tree that I have been growing for 2.5 years from a lil sprout!

I liked those pics this morning. That was before I went out and did 1/2 the yard work. Where's the hate button? 
I might need to find someone to mow for me or get a smaller mower. I thought I was smart getting a corner lot with a more yard.
About 4 or 5 years ago, I ran a thick piece of stainless sheet into the end of my middle finger on my left hand during a grinding incident. Pulled it out with pliers and kept working. I could see a light line of a small scar once it healed. Now it's bugging the poopie out of me playing bass. This makes me grumpy. Now I see a bunch of scar tissue under the surface. I'd like to cut it open and make sure there's no metal left and remove the scar tissue. Wife gets upset when I do my own surgery. She didn't even like it when I drained a bursa on my elbow
I noticed I couldn't hear much difference between the tube pre and solid state on my Carvin amp, so i tried an old old NOS GE 12ax7 in there and wow! Now there's a big difference! Also tried a Sylvania GB-5751, but not much difference, kind of in between.

Listening now. Really sounds good. Setup for rocksmith, so left is my stereo and right is my bass amp
It sounds great though with full range on the right as well.
That’s one drug an educator should never be on cos’ it affects the pupils!

Now I'm grumpy. Drilled an 1/8" hole into my ankle about an inch deep. Black (deoxegenated) blood came out. If I don't keep it elevated, it throbs and oozes blood. I'm getting into at least a six pack of liquid antidepressant/pain reliever right now.
No, not a failed attempt at self-surgery, just a mishap from doing what seemed like a good idea at the time. It seems my smaller milling machine I use for drilling is covered up by sheets of 3/4" void free plywood for some reason. Seemed logical to just hand drill the holes since there were just a few, and cordless drill and two types of bits sitting the in the kitchen with good lighting. :***:

Wll gof's I have a very interesting story to tell you. A couple years ago I bought a beautiful Peavey Databass combo with a LeCover and brand new Black Widow and wheels. It was sold to me by a nice gentleman in Georgia. As it's very heavy I never took it out, and rather than let it sit in my office, I put it up for sale on TB Classifieds hoping it would find a nice home.
This weekend I received an offer to buy it. The buyer had just joined Talkbass and said he really wanted the amp. Over the weekend I emailed him and told him I would get the boxes together to mail it out this week. Turns out I still have two of the three original boxes that it shipped in. When I went to pull off the mailing address I looked at the return address, and it turned out to be the original seller! The guy from Georgia!
I called him up, and assured him that amp is still in perfect condition. As I spoke with him, he told me that one of his big regrets was that he sold the amp, and was looking for a replacement! He couldn't believe he found his own amp for sale, and frankly, I'm amazed, because so many times I've almost sold it, and this time I did list it. What are the chances of him Googling Databass amp, finding Talkbass, then finding his own amp for sale, just after I listed it???!!
Another positive note he did join Talkbass! So, I invited him to drop by and visit us GOF's and really hope he does. He's an older gentleman like ourselves lol.

That's almost as cool as Jack Casady recently getting back his first Guild Starfire bass that was stolen in 1969. One of the first basses modified by a couple of the guys who started Alembic.
It's back!!
Hard to be grumpy right now; off work until Tuesday. First time I've had more than one vacation day in a row for almost a year now, and covering a weekend as well. Maybe tomorrow I'll get out the big drill bits
