Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I hope that for your benefit that they do that replacement as well!

Thanks you friend. To be clear, my cancer is completely behind me. All of it was contained in the naughty gland. I do likely likely have upcoming neck and maybe back surgery :( I hope I can get them to do replacement parts rather than fusing the vertebra together.

Thanks 99. They used to not have the bionic disks for the neck, but now they do. It's just a matter or how far I might have to travel to get them. Years back I told my big city doc that I didn't want fused disks, wanted plastic, and he said they didn't have them for the neck and they were not plastic :( last year I found they have them, so I looked and found they are made of PEEK, my favorite plastic! Machines beautifully, inert, temperature stable and self lubricating. More $$$ than delrin, a close 2nd, so it usually is only used for special purposes, laboratory equipment, medical and the likes. Before years end, I might be part PEEK and have a bionic neck. I could get back into dirt biking and head butting :banghead:

Now for a bit of grumpy news and a happy ending. No, no massage, not THAT happy of ending. Day boss failed to call in sick as I had expected him to, and night boss/wifey did call in sick, which she almost never does. In fact, first time at this job, after 3-1/2 years. So I not not only went from expecting no adult supervision for 48 hours to full supervision for the last 24 hours, PLUS a very sick little girl on my hands. So, after a bit of sulking, self pity and moping around, I realized this weekend is our last days off before her birthday and decided to let her at her big gift:

She liked the wrapping paper, thanks to my coworker and good friend Melinda who did it up last weekend.

Tator Salad approves as well.

She loves the bling factor as expected. Right away she said, oh that will look good in our home. The sound is awesome. Unexpectedly, the blues and the dirty channel distort beautifully with the drive set full go. Got a free foot switch salesman Eric added into the deal, so she can select and of the three channels from that, plus a mute. The third channel is the "clean" channel. Very nice effects built in and I don't think she will need any pedals. Plenty loud, but next time, probably Christmas, she'll get a matching (harmonically and blingologically) extension cab.

Today, everything is back to normal, I'm grumpy and she's feeling better and made me hang another set of 2" blinds. I don't see the hurry, I was already up to over one set a year. Now I'm up to a set every 6 months. Every silver lining has a black cloud.

Edit, that's not even my good leg; the other is even sexier :D:laugh:

Tired and sore old fart, Rode (horses) 6 hours a day this weekend in a performance horse clinic... younger horse, in the hot sun. A little sunburned, overall kinda stiff and sore, even my ass! It doesn't get any easier, I miss the old days of not feeling so beat up!

Well practice with the new band went better yesterday.. I am still going to have to get some earplugs or something.. even after mentioning that I was already totally deaf in my right ear.. the geetar player didn't ever try to turn down.. so I mentioned the ear plugs.. and his response was.. yeeup.. you just might have too! Geezz

Not going to share my grumpy pains today. The weekend ended giving our guitarist with the expiration date a gtg and a 3 1/2 hour bath of rock, blues and country. Don't know how long he will be able play and just about any local person he played with and a couple he never got to showed up.

I sure hope he can play as long as he wants to. Pretty sad to see a friend on his way out.

Take a moment away from fretting about how the kids of today are ruining the world and meditate on the warm glow of a filament bulb.

Oh wait, they're doing away with tungsten filament bulbs. This is a clear Edison LED filament bulb that is good at faking it (Invalid Link Removed). Try not to let that distract you.

It is becoming clear that the "Golden Years" are actually iron pyrite.

Thanks @BadExample, I am impressed how resolute he is. We readjusted his strap and his playing angle as the top "horn" of his guitar was hitting the port they installed just under the skin. It is more comfortable than the external port for him anyway. He uses a lidocaine cream about an hour before treatments so the puncturing of the skin is pretty painless. The longer you live the more you see.
