Well I have my date of June 15 for surgery. Now my ticker IS going tickety boom!!! :(

You know my best wishes and prayers will be with you Paul. Look at the up side, most people I know have much more energy and felt more content after. Time for a tuneup to bring back smooth running and full power.

On a more pleasant subject: My harmonica playing buddy from across the street and I visited the Tuesday night blues jam at the Duke Of York on Queen street. Great house band with a bass player who was about seven foot tall!! Had a fun night. My buddy Dave played well but is discovering the financial cost we all face as we get better at our craft. The Harps he now plays are 150 - 200 bucks apiece! LOL i feel a little guilty for encouraging him to play more.

A guitard, I use that word for the intended insult, went on stage and proceeded to try and teach the band how to play Cold Shot, at full volume! Quarter of an hour later he finally starts the song. Sings the first verse, screws up the words for the second and stops. Someone brings him the lyrics but he says for all to hear: “It’s not the words - the groove’s all wrong!!” Dave and I left right after that. Talk about a Prima Donna!

It wasn't The Wizard from Mother's Finest, was it?

I never had claustrophobia until I helped out the electricians (AE's) replace the genny in an A-4. Most of the work is done underneath in the "fore hell holes", but some connectors to be done through one of the intakes. 5 or 6 guy's life you up, you get your hands up like for the cops, and they stick you in maybe a 12" x 16" opening, then they tell you what to do with your fingers. They don't screw around, when you say "OUT" once, you get pulled out and another guy give it a go.

I don't mind tight spaces. I mind too many people crammed into whatever sized space. I got thanked in a PhD thesis for being the guy who was willing to get in pretty much the same position (and also "hoisted up to enter") inside a 16" diameter vacuum vessel with a hacksaw in hand.

An annual rite of spring in my area was GB parachute training (not quite sure why, they were not particularly local; perhaps we resembled some part of Russia or Eastern Germany), which always seemed to wind up with a few hung up somewhere inconvenient. Our area was also used for practicing flights under radar; the fighter jocks were so low over the cornfield that you could look down into the cockpits from where the houses were built above the flood-plain / river-bottom / corn-field, and they were pulling up to clear the trees at the edge of the river.
