I took commuter trains, one hour in each direction every day. There were signs posted, never flush when the train is in the station. Seems that when you flush, you can see the tracks.

If you want to get really "modern", 1951's "Rocket 88" is considered to be the first rock-and-roll record. But if you listen to those tunes from the 30's and 40's, that to me is questionable. Here's Jackie Brenston and his Delta Cats which was atuslly Ike Turner and his Kings of Rhythm. Jackie Brenston was Ike's sax player.
I was once threatened with being run out of town on one.I like rail travel![]()
I know, they are out of control.
I prefer an aisle seat, faster egress. Let me outta here! There's usually a button that allows you to lift the arm rest on the aisle. Makes you a little less boxed in during the flight.
The Airbus CEO talked today about how serious their condition is. Boeing is in trouble as well, especially with the 737MAX grounded. Both are worried about survival. Nobody knows what sort of planes will sell in the new world.
At the speed the train(should be)going, it'll disperse. Still wouldn't wanna be trackside at that moment.I took commuter trains, one hour in each direction every day. There were signs posted, never flush when the train is in the station. Seems that when you flush, you can see the tracks.
I agree with Morrigan on this. Even though I enjoy listening to music and watching videos, there is something magical about a live performance. An example is that I have seen James Cotton perform several times. To sit up near the stage and experience the raw live emotion is something that you will not get from watching a video IMHO.
Here is James playing Rocket 88. James quit singing by now as he struggled with throat cancer and it affected his voice. Also his harmonica playing is not what it use to be. But every time I have seen him, I got to sit and hang out with him after the show.
You can check out his bass player, the late Noel Neal, at the right in the video.
My last commercial flight was 12/25/1970. If I need to go somewhere and the only way to get there is to fly, I apparently don't really need to go.I don't fly anymore. All these posts are the reason why...

It's way different now. You go to the airport two hours in advance and put you through a military type induction process. X-ray, metal detection, remove your shoes, bend over....Then you get to the gate and learn all about overbooking, less seats available than people wanting one. Then there's a preferential boarding process, there's all kinds of ways that everyone gets on before you. Bring a cane, it helps. Then you get on the plane and the overhead storage is all full so they take your bag and put it with the checked luggage. Say goodbye before they take it, you might not see it again. You are now in your seat. A kid is pounding the back of your chair, their parents will never tell them to stop. Babies are screaming and pooping. Expect comfort animals, in Florida maybe a pet alligator or something else exotic. Sometimes the takeoff is delayed.
I few months ago there was a an obnoxious wedding party on board that screamed back and forth throuout the flight. One wanted my preplanned aisle seat near the front so they could sit with their friend. Many of these spoiled children have never heard the word NO! in their entire life.
I kid you not.

When my wife flies alone she usually asks for a wheel chair and she gets on first, I won't let her do it when we're together.![]()
Very creative, your wife is. If I ever fly again, I will have to use that.
Beats me having to go to the zoo for a guide/support animal like @beans-on-toast posted over in the GOF's Club posted early today.
Does your wife want a membership number? We could use creativity like that.
I kid you not.

I'm not sure why, but the anteater looks like he may be an engaging conversationalist.
Must be the turtleneck.
Reminds me of Dick Cavett.
