We are not really certain how it is those beings whose Prime Directive is "Be as annoying as possible" were admitted to the Federation. Quarantine would be on the director's desk now for signing, but the Annoyers are insisting to speak with management.

I would have been able to convey my thought to them without getting nasty. Life is too short to spend time trying to discuss issues with A&W corporate. They don’t care. Policies are geared towards the young. They use phones, that’s how the world shall be. They can’t look beyond themselves. We must conform for their benefit.

I’ve encountered companies that no longer have a customer service phone number. They don’t have an email address. They have facebook. It’s the only way to contact them. I don’t have facebook and NEVER will.

These policies are nothing but agism. Descriminating against individuals on the basis of their age.

Hmmm, is there 'A "karen" Protocol' published anywhere that can educate a GOF? I think I'd rather not be "a karen" if I can help it. Or is that, too, considered to be "karen" behavior.

My wife kept bugging me to get a face book account (I had had one once and got rid of it, I couldn't stand it) so she created one for me with some wierd name and I used it a little bit to communicate with her when she was here in Lima visiting while I was still working in the US. On day I looked up in the corner and there was an ad that said something like Paul McCartney dead. I didn't click on it but went right to google and of course he hadn't died but it did startle me for a second or two. That showed me right there that they would take money from anyone and run any kind of ad no matter how much of a grievous lie it was. I deleted my account starting that day, it was not easy to figure it out, they don't want you to leave, it's a very aggressive company that should be broken up and $uckerberg should be shipped to Russia.

Sorry, but I do not think it is "agism". I believe they take whatever measures they can to avoid personal contact. It is a common theme. Look at Amazon and many others. They offer canned responses. If your question or problem does not fit, you are out of luck. They do not want to deal with personal inquiries. Many do not have phone numbers to call or offer chat because they do not care.

I walked over to BestBuy this evening an bought an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw. Good thing that I brought my hand truck, it weighs 49lbs. Took it out of the box. There isn’t a manual included. There is a web address. So you have to use the internet to figure put how to use the machine. They stress, don’t turn it on till you go to their site and they take you through all the procedures.

And yes!, they have an app that talks to the printer to control options. Do a firmware update. The app also wants to order paper and toner. At least I can run it on my computer and am not expected to do it from a cell phone.

What ever happened to plug-and-play?

Yes, companies like Amazon don’t care. Maybe if you pay them to care. I don’t have Prime.

But many older people are not technically minded and don’t always have the required resources.

A friend in their 80’s recently needed to have a telemedicine checkup. No visits allowed due to covid. Here were no other dignified (private) options available. They don’t have a cell phone. They don’t have a computer. A family member had to fly in to assist them.

If you don’t like it, they will not deal with you. There is no allowance for the aged that can’t ride the digital wave.

A comedian did a bit about hordes of marauding karens cleaning out the TP with no thought to any but themselves. Predictably a Real Life Karen-named-person complained and the next thing you know

I just found that site a few days ago and I spend almost as much time there as on TB. The 'funny' part-for me- is that an incredibly beautiful, and nice, girl I knew in high school was named Karen. Only named Karen I know.
