My reliable laser printer (bought in 2003) gave up the ghost and I have to buy a new one. Any recommendations for a small office machine? I like HP but am looking around. I know that all the HP laser engines and cartridges are made by Canon. Reliability is high on the list.
I switched from my 1990 HP Laser to a multi-function 2001 HP Laser (no wireless/drivers not updated) to a JD870DW Brother multi-function color ink jet in 2015. The HPs were bullet proof but since I'm not printing as much as I used to, the Brother has done very well for me. Reliable, excellent print quality and I get a wireless/copier/scanner/duplex printer built in.

I hear Espon also make some highly rated printers too.

I don't know how to speak Elvish. I don't know if elves even have grocery lists. I'd bet that Tolkien and Elvis are fast friends though.
I doubt it. I hear neither of them could hit a 40 in under 6 seconds. And that's before Elvis invented peanut butter banana sandwiches.

I noticed that crazy people no longer walk down the street talking to themselves. They don’t stand out from cell phone users.

I find it sad when I see someone walking their dog while on a phone. The dog looks up hoping to be given a smile and some interaction. They get ignored.
What horrifies me is Mom pushing a stroller and just stepping into a crosswalk while her head is down in the phone she’s holding in the pushing hand.

I have zero interest in enforced Cloud storage, or Siri, or giving my real time location data to anyone, so this may not be the best fit...LOL! But it's fine, I usually manage to adapt to horse pucky reasonably well for a geezer. And the pad itself is a killer appliance in many ways.
I don’t think the fit is the problem here, because I think all smart devices want something similar. It’s annoying and a PITA to go through and turn everything off. And yeah, iPads are really good stuff.

I (used to) go to WDW a lot. Ppl walking along, heads buried in their phones, and they get pissed when they run into you. Like it's up to me to know where the [obscenity] they are going and get outta their way. Try stepping off to the side to figure out where yer going or whatever. I don't walk here, lady.:smug:

Do regular local bands ever get to play there?

I went with an HP M283 that’s what they had at the store but the model was at the top of my list. I like it just fine. The only negative is that the toner is expensive. A complete retube of fours high capacity cartridges, Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yeller costs as much as the printer. Granted, that’s for thousands of pages.

Times are a changing....

When I was in high school, I worked at a local super market in the meat department. One day I was walking down one of the aisles toward the front of the store in my long white coat full of blood stains and an elderly lady stopped me and asked, "Do you have cotton balls?". I answered (straight-faced), "What do I look like? A teddy bear?". She gave me a confused stare. I then politely took her down the aisle where the cotton balls were stocked.

When I think back now, it is a wonder I did not get fired....

A friend of mine also worked in the meat department of a grocery store. One day while making hamburger he lost three fingers in the grinder. They fired him. He went back to school as a result and became an engineer.

The composing room foreman at a newspaper that doesn't exist in 2020 told me how

how as a kid in his first job at the very same paper he was tasked with painting the kickboards under the composing room tables. And said to himself if that *#)#@! publisher walks by one more time, I'm painting his shoes. And he did, too. Didn't get fired.

Got fired for pitching pennies at the loading dock.
