Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Rice cookers work really well. Especially when the rice cooker is me. Some assert risotto is my signature dish. Certainly I found it a perfect dinner dining solo in Milan. Risotto Milanese three or four times a week, and all things considered a very fine arrangement. If I see an exotic preparation, I'm going to try it. Word of warning about risotto al nero di seppia e gamberi — squid ink is <ahem> indigestible. Use your imagination.

What proper risotto is to me is my undivided attention until it's ready to serve. This means a lot of tap dancing in the kitchen that everything goes to the table exactly on time. A French expression for "to die for" translates as "nail your [posterior] to the floor" and that is what my asparagus risotto does to guests. As first course. Prepare for gastronomic bliss, the table's open

The asparagus risotto sounds good. The thing about stirring risotto is that it gives you time to think while stirring. I have an old Hitachi rice cooker, there are fancier ones available today but I’m not one to discard something just because it’s old.

Anybody need to get spaced out?

Haven't even turned on the headset and read "Terry Bozzio" and remember that man is insane. Speaking of drummers, 7/7 marks Ringo's 80th birthday. Ringo, you da man. Happy birthday

Some call it improvising....I call it noodling....Everybody appears to be doing their own thing.
The guitarist sounds like he is practicing every arpeggio he knows as a warm up.
I actually made it farther in the "worlds worst drummer" video than this one. :D

I think sometimes pictures describe better than words...

Deliver us from Penn Station

in the spotlight today (as one of the worst places in The City). Port Authority is pretty rank, too, and LaGuardia is the hellhole against which all hellholes are measured. IMO. But absolutely, yes, Penn Station is a top drawer hellhole.

Random old picture of NYC just because it's Tuesday or something and I'm out for coffee soon bye

With the hospital lab closed on July 3 for the holiday, rushed to have some OPE drawn on July 2 for my July 6 appointment. Arrived for my Monday appointment with a good five minutes on my side, to be informed my appointment is Friday, July 10. :banghead: Took a call from the same doctor's office today asking why my labs aren't completed. Put on my best neutral voice and corrected their oversight. So we're even. One doctor appointment Wednesday, another Friday, and another on Tuesday. Ain't we got fun!

I was s'posed to have one yesterday(Mon.)but it's in West Palm Beach[I live ~50 miles away], same 'plumbing' doctor I went to when I lived there. I only hafta see him 3to4 times/year, and having driven 18 wheelers for 23 years, 50 miles is nothing-to me, anyway. However, right now Palm Beach County is-I think-#3 in FL in positives and I'm in the high risk group.
