"I'm living in yesterday's tomorrows" and what we have here is a scraped knee (I am not 6!), two minor abrasions, and a scuff. And present enough at the moment of realization of having rolled with it cleanly, saw in my mind's eye the Bloom County "Bactine!" joke.

I was in front of the big box pharmacy place and probably could have bought some Bactine. I was there for the drain cleaner, so drain cleaner it was. Next stop was the Asian market, where we learn the Asian market is closed on Thursdays.

As a joke, once suggested jade chopsticks for an elegantly prepared Chinese meal at my sister's. Jade chopsticks for the table were proudly produced. One broke (not mine).

A beautiful friend who split her time between her homes in Provence and Singapore gave me a chopstick lesson when I was a young teen learning to cook Chinese. I'd been eating with chopsticks for half my life by then ...

"You're eating your food like an opium addict," she chided. "Hold your chopsticks here" (top), "not down there".

I’ve been meaning to pick up some stainless steel chopsticks. Been watching Korean Street Food videos and I can see how cooking with chopsticks can be good. I have bamboo ones but they are not a clean as stainless.

We watch a bunch of his videos whenever we eat at local restaurant Pacific Grill.

A post on another thread in another galaxy forum section made me post this pic.

My BIL made this cake for me many, many, many moons ago.

I know. It's a guitar but I didn't want to break his heart. ;)

Do you mean, the part above where it says, "If it's not........? :D

A very good friend of mine would do just that every time we go out to eat, if he could (take-out, these days).

Oh don't I know it. A former brother-in-law (former, as in wherever folks go when they're no longer here, not up to me really) ate 96 oysters on the half shell in a sitting. "Like green corn through the new maid," someone may have remarked.

We're all praying for you.

I seriously don't want someone coming to the door. Neither does anyone else. I placed the service call late this afternoon, a tech was available first thing next day. You normally have to wait.

I've been reading that more and more people are fleeing cities in favor of the country because of covid. Working from home has become permanent in many offices and people don't need to live near or travel to work. My area with a dense population was a hot spot for infections. Folks are fed up with the stress of living with crowds, lines for stores, and living in fear. A lot of people that I used to see on the streets are either not going out anymore or are no longer here, some have died.

Is that why your FBIL went wherever it is he went?

I was a guest of my sister and (then) BIL at a gimmick restaurant in Denver, where he ordered a 64 ounce steak. My mind refuses to voluntarily recall if he actually ate the entire thing, or merely most of it.

He was eventually bio-exorcised. End-stage colon cancer.

My planned dinner tonight was mapo tofu, except for the forgetting-to-buy-the-tofu-today thing.

My planned dinner was pulled pork, collards, corn nuggets, and sliced pickled beets. What I wound up having was pulled pork, collards, corn nuggets, and sliced pickled beets. And a diet Dr. Pepper.:D
