I dropped out of high school after two months in the tenth grade to be a full time plastic hippy hitchhiked to CA twice, did all sorts of antisocial things, I had a terrible attitude when I was a kid especially in school, my younger brothers and sister who had to attend in my wake were asked if I were their brother and were looked at suspiciously for a little while until they proved to be serious students. I eventually got my GED, went to college and got two bachelor degrees but like they say if I knew then what I know now........

There’s a post with a number at each parking spot, then there are stations where you enter your parking spot number and pay. It can also be done with an app. If someone drives off, you don’t know if there is money left on the spot like in the old days.

Meter minders in some places have their own vehicles, they drive from spot to spot, using a remote computer to see how’s meter has expired. Despite those high costs, the business makes a lot of money.

I’m still waiting for a cure for the common cold. Could it be that one is not solved because pharma makes too much on cold medications?

The pay system they put in Flagstaff a couple of years ago uses an app or one of many kiosks installed around downtown. Your payment is tied to your license plate, not the spot you parked in. You can move and repark without having to pay again, as long as there's time left. Nice! But they don't tell you that. Anywhere. I had to ask a parking enforcement officer. The city is perfectly happy to have you pay again. And so is Flowbird (the app), taking their fee per transaction.

Funny thing is, they could be programmed to turn off during those hours but, "strangely", they are not .

Well I'm home sick for a second day. For some reason my allergies have been horrible this year. Took Mucinex and I'm getting ready to take Claritin. I don't know if this happens to some of but my nose _vibrates_ to the point of driving me crazy, with the continuous draining. Sheesh! I could use a break!

That's forbidding country. Even the names of features sound forbidding. Found a set of photographs of the same place in Death Valley photographed by both Weston and Adams on the same day. Recall reading Weston pointed his meter in several directions before announcing "it says [this] but it needs [this instead]". The two photographs are as different as can be, and taken from very nearly the same vantage point.

I like Borax.
