I did get a lot of time out in the field playing with some super cool stuff that has been essential to our national defense and will continue to be throughout this century. I guess at some point we all have to do our time behind a desk! And who knows, it ain't over until it's over!

Who doesn't enjoy sea shanties? I believe they're so popular because many high government officials very probably know all the lyrics to Barnacle Bill.
Today is 1920. In some respects, things haven't changed that much.
Some things about the roaring twenties seem kinda nice to my eyes! Back then you could tell the boys from the girls, boys opened doors for the girls, and girls (mostly) behaved ladylike. Maybe I'm seeing it through rose-colored glasses..........

This may sound naive but even as a youngster I knew to stand up when a lady entered the room. We opened car doors. Certain language was not allowed and people on TV didn't slander and trash each other on the news, pushing their own agendas, whatever their bent. I guess I just miss the old days.

What appears important to me is accepting there is a difference between the stories we tell about ourselves and how we really are. It isn't a good/bad thing for me. I grew up in a very small place and heard more trash talk for a lifetime from people who call themselves "good". It's not something I choose to give any energy to.
