Was scheduled to see my orthopedic surgeon Tuesday to finalize the joint fusion procedure for my right foot. It's osteoarthritis, no cartilage remains at the joint (same as whut took my knees), and I deferred the scheduled February surgery on account of a different condition
That's all cleared up (or enough to go forward) ANDthe surgeon is out for a family emergency so the presurgery appointment is now pushed out to the day the originally scheduled for the procedure. Strange world.

I've experienced some appointment reshuffling myself. Pandemic driving an even stranger world?

What a flipping waste of time ....
I practice with <cough cough, excuse me> an app on my smrtphn that's a metronome with a timer. Place the smrtphn on my music stand so I can see the metronome run, and run it's output to the Aux IN on my practice amp. And for no reason I can see the stupid smrtphn refused to switch to landscape mode when I started in today. All kinds of futzing and even a google until ... until I've burned 30 minutes of my practice time
Fixed now, but pewp on the interface that even allowed that to happen.

Good morning GOF's. Please report in if all fingers, toes, appendages are accounted for. I have a three day weekend coming up. Labor Day. Which means Carey will have me laboring in the spare bedroom and shed! I think I already mentioned we got a special deal on some meats from omahasteaks.com so I told Carey I'll do the cooking this weekend. Hot dogs, salad, burgers, salad, on Monday, ribs and salad. We've discovered as we got older that salad is really important. Played my new old bass until 12:00am when Carey finally yelled out-- "Turn it off now!" I'm really enjoying the active bass now that it's working with a (ahem) new battery. As I mentioned before, I'm so glad I got this bass. I didn't even realize how much extra excellent tone I was missing using economy basses. This one wasn't a $2,500 bass for sure, but it did sound much more refined defined and growly than my SR500 and SR300E. So what say ye, GOF's-- what do you have planned for this Labor Day? Remember be safe please!

While I sort of didn't expect a work weekend ... it's work on that shed and spare bedroom inside me that calls. Nope, can't see those bits, or poke them with a stick, but they are there just the same. And important to keep all those places inside (and outside) tidy. Well, important for me. Ain't nobody else going to do it for me that I've ever seen.
Which is another way of saying I'm in a virtual classroom on Sunday. Actually two, and only one is bass. What this has done in real terms is put me a month or three out of bass number 3, that very much looks to be a budget bass. Shorties and all ...
There, I said it, I'm 64, I can see 65 from here and I like playing my 31 inch scale! And fine 30 inch scale solidbody before January is my quest! Not exactly sure why (yes I am) with no gigosity incoming because of the Thing That's Going Around.
According to Zzounds, MM is coming out with a Stingray shorty sometime in the fall(?).

There's a Sterling by MM passive Stingray in Daphne blue about the same price as the G&L Tribute Fallout. Latest word here at TB from the first Fallout owners is at 44 inches, a proper gig bag isn't a reality. Just a little too long for the longest guitar gig bags, and way too short for bass gig bags. But that may also be true of many other short scales, I dunno?
The Daphne blue gets a nod from me, but maybe not enough to win me over.
I've got time to think it through, and the course material our class is quite suited to the subject. Our facilitator is no stranger to me. But kind of surprised that she cut her beautiful, very long gray hair. Must have happened recently? She looks well and vibrant to me and there really was no way I could turn down the offer to join.

1) Every day's a holiday!
2) I never accidentally go in to work on a holiday. Did that twice. One Memorial Day. One Labor Day. Both days early, before the engineers showed up. Which they never did. 'Cause it was a stinkin' holiday!
I'm about to sorta step back in time and get an EB-0 (SS), possibly in a trade for my Squier VM Jaguar SS that I've never quite bonded with completely. I had a 66 Gibby EB-3 (SS) that I shouldn't have sold, so it'll be like 'old home week'. Kinda. Sorta. I'm always interested in Gibsons! Ibby doesn't really "do" short scales (bottom shelf TMB30), and Yamaha has none. EBMM was never really huff on short scales.
The upshot is, my Stingray is really as retired as [pronoun] should be.

I tried a full scale 5 string relic'd Ibanez Artcore in our local B&M. It really threw me because (Will, I hope you're listening) I didn't see at first it was five strings. My right hand is confused, my left hand is confused, I'm confused, this thing don't play! .... the problem (hehe) was me ... Gonna bow out of five strings, thanks.
Yeah I've got the semi- and hollowbody thumpthing down with my Chowny. Otherwise I'd be thinking Starfire or even that red Gretsch.
